Should I get the carpet mat set?

I'm planning to buy a 2010 SR5 4x4 next week. Is there a reason I should buy the "Premium Carpet Mat Set" for $209?

I always place some type of rubber mat at the front seats area and only rarely carry a rear seat passenger. I have always placed the heavy rubber mats over the carpet mats on vehicles, but with all the news, maybe this hasn't been the best practice (although it has worked fine for the past forty years).

I would appreciate your comments on what I should consider.

The options I have requested are: fabric power seats, BLU Logic Hands Free System, and EX Satellite Radio. That's all. I can afford the mats. I'm just thinking they are superfluous.

I purchased the carpet mat set even though I've already gotten rubber mats. I'll never use the carpet set but will put them in when its time to sell/trade it.

Mine came with the "Premium Mats" as an option already so I didn't get much of a choice or I would not have bought them . Rubber Husky mats can be bought for a lot less. Check out the post on mats for the 2010's.http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-ge...ther-mats.html

Where in Texas are you as I'm going to sell my like new factory "Premium Mats" as I bought Weathertechs.
PM me if interested.

Toyota mats won't last -- mine are already worn at the heel area at 4600 miles. I had a set of Cocomats made for my 4R. Nice quality, heavy mats....

I'm getting the beige interior, so if I want the mats, they would be the beige ones.

I wouldn't be without some type of heavy rubber mat because my boots are regularly muddy.

Thank you for the offers and comments.

At this point I'm still nervous about buying the 4Runner. Just today I returned a GMC Terrain to the GM dealer under the 60 day satisfaction guarantee. There is no vehicle I really like (that I can afford). At least the 4Runner seems to be a real vehicle. I wasn't happy when test driving it with the loud whistle seemingly coming from the roof rack.

My favorite vehicle ever was a LandCruiser. I rue the day I got rid of it.

I'm dying to get my 4Runner (arrives late Mar - mid Apr), but if you aren't gaga over the vehicle, I'd wait until you find something that you really want or give yourself a moment to fall in love w/ it.

Did the vehicle you test drove have crossbars?

What about a slightly used Land Cruiser instead?

How hard was it to return? Was the dealer difficult?

Are you talking about the the Toyota Premium mats? I'm not sure those are available in beige, as AFAIK the carpet in all models (at this point) is black and the mats are made to match the carpet. Please disregard if you were referring to aftermarket mats.

Skip it. Buy a good set of all weather mats from Weathertek or Husky.

I will find out about the color of the mats. I am referring to Toyota Premium mats. The mats in the vehicle I test drove were beige. I wasn't interested in that particular T4R because it was 2wheel drive.

But thanks for bringing up the issue so I can verify.

I am quite surprised how smoothly the return of the Terrain went. I filled out a form and sent info to Detroit; a few days later I received a phone call to meet the Vehicle Inspector at the dealer. She inspected and all was fine. Since the dealer had no experience with a return, we had to wait another day for him to call Detroit for instructions. I rented a car because after the inspection, I could no longer drive the car. After the dealer got the instructions, a check was ready for me to pick up for the amount I paid for the Terrain plus sales tax.

I should add: I had paid cash for the car.
