Did you air down your tires?

Nice photos! Are those the stock tires? Did you lock the rear diff and turn on A-Trac to try to get unstuck? or Crawl Control?

Does not look like you aired down, did you?
I ran my last suv (99' Durango) on the soft soft soft sand beaches of Cape Cod during the summers for year, only once did I get stuck. It was my fault, tight turn up a 'dune' and bottomed the frame out. Just cleared about an 1" away from the frame, dropped it into 4L, board under the front left tire, and she shot right up and out, about 5-10 min max.
I have yet to take the new 4R out there, but I am assuming that it will be a LOT better.
Airing down in the key!!! I usually ran 12-18 depending on the beach conditions, will see how the new 4R goes, might be able to keep it a little higher.
If you are going to the beach a lot I suggest these, or ones like them....
Staun Tire Deflators
Have fun!

Yes they are still the junk stock tires. I am not going to change them until after I move. I dont want to drive 4000 miles on A/T tires and wear them out. I will run these till then. I know I should have aired down, but I wasn't in the sand long, well didn't plan to be. I was on a rough and muddy road. My tires were packed with mud, thats why I got so stuck. It was like I was on slicks. I tried all the functions. Put the crawl control on, locked the rear diff, and all that good stuff and aired down. Finally I just bit the bullet and dug down and placed big flat rocks and worked my way to the coral.... Thats were I hit the bottom.. Thank god nothings broken.. But other than that, it was a great time. Went through some big ruts without hitting... Can't wait to get better tires though.

Honestly, you could run slicks on the beach and still not get stuck. Airing down a LOT is key key key key! I owned an old dune buggy, 2wd, large (essentially slick) tires in the rear, air those down and never had an issue. It is more about the 'footprint' your tire can give you when you air down than how 'knobby' or 'aggressive' your tread it. What do you carry for recovery equipment? Toss a 2' x 12' x 2'" in the back, you would be amazed at what that can do for you when you drop to the frame. Go to your local Army surplus store and see if you can not find an old foldable shovel also. Our beach has requirements, you can not go out without all the 'proper' equipment.

seems like you should have aired down more. great pics though, love the scenary!
if you plan on driving in sand often you might wanna invest in these:
x-jack from ARB:
Exhaust Jacks | X-Jack Exhaust Vehicle Jack
and sand ladders/mats:
High quality aluminimum sand ladder www.sandladder.net
great tools to have if you're constantly driving in sand and makes life easier

It was a joke. Beside my limited doesn't get stuck here on the obx soft deep sand I guess you need to learn how to drive.

I live near Boston. Heated seats are a must, I like leather seats, and I like all the other widgets that come with it. YMMV.
