Quoted on TE in Canada....
Hi everyone. After some negotiations, got a quote for 2010 4Runner Trail Edition in Canada at $40769.00 (before freight and taxes), which is $3271 off from the MSRP.
Did anyone get a better price so far in Canada?
Thanks for your input.

I would say you did well considering the dealer cost is $39569. I'm also in Ottawa. Which dealer did you work with?

No Canadian on this forum bought their 2010 4Runner yet?

The marketing margin in Canada on TE is rediculously high - almost 4.5K! (Are we racher than average American?)
Considering such a high margin, 3270 below MSRP looks a decent deal, but it is still 1200 over dealer invoice!
I'm trying to bet starting from just 100 bucks over the invoice, but most dealers just say good luck.
Anyway, looking at the number of responses (0), there is no single Canadian bought a 2010 4Runner so far. Strange, given 300 vehicles allocated to Canada thus far.

I'm in canada, and I bought a new trail edition....but it's none of your business what I paid, that's why i didn't answer.
If both parties are happy, it's a deal. That's the bottom line.

The market is different in Canada. It's also a niche vehicle here, it's new on the market and they have limited quantities. Some people are willing to pay MSRP for them (I have seen some mentioning this on this forum). Considering all this, the price you have is good.
It's funny that the red tag sales apply to almost all Toyotas except the 4runner and the FJ. They even go out of their way on the Web site to mention that the loyalty program does not apply to the 4runner.
I'm in waiting mode right now. If the price of gas starts going up again, I bet they will start budging on price.

Well, after 4 month of waiting, I picked up my 4R TE on Thursday. Fresh off the press, with sweet 2 km (1 mi) on the odo.
The dealer (Auger Toyota in Gatino) stood the negotiated price ($3271 off MSRP) despite the fact that no paperwork was done at that moment (there is an odd policy in Quebec to not sign anything with a customer unless the car is in a stock). I still consider this as a good deal because no one around could offer me anything even close to this price except one dealer in Renfrew with a price by $500 more. As my friend from another dealership said (who actually could not help me to beat that offer) - it is all because this truck is still very rare here in Canada (in Ontario at least).
I haven't seen any 2010 4R on roads here in Ottawa and around it so far. There is one Limited (in black) at the same dealer in Gatino though.
Anyway, I was very delighted to deal with them. At their courtesy (never asked about this) they trew in a cargo net ($85), wheel locks ($75) and a trailer ball ($24), and provided a full tank of gas.
Here is the beast:

You did very well on the purchase price. Congrats! Toyota is selling about 250-300 4Runners per month in Canada right now, so you should see a few more soon enough. Prices will remain firm, however, for the next year or so.
Now go get that beast dirty!

I'd say you got a good price considering here in calgary in FEb/Mar I was shopping around and in high river the best price was 48K for the one on the lot. In the end I used a broker here and purchased a Limited out of Texas with the dollar at 1.01. It cost us 46K and change to put it in the driveway. Unfortuantely CDn tire made me change the running lights, but other than that no problems. If you look carefully in Ottawa you may see my wife driving it around as she is visiting our daughter.

Hey guys , is the KDSS standard from the factory with Trail Editions? , i know in america its optional but when building a 4runner on toyota.ca it seems as if the KDSS comes as part of the TE trim level.

I would call a dealer near by and make sure it is still included, I have a 2011 TE and it has KDSS but I am really not sure for the 2013's.
And nice Truck man , but it's weird you picked up a 2010 with 5km's on it. Did the dealer forget it in the warehouse or something ?
