Right on man that is definitely the better way to do it. more the back hatch is the PITA from what I have read. The bumers look pretty easy to remove for sure so that you can get those chrome strips off.
When I tackle this next weekend I will post pics with doing the tricky stuff on the truck and we will see how my work ends up with plasti dip.

Asumtneer,
Looks great! I'm a big fan of de-chromming.

The piece on the hatch is by far the worst. Removal isn't terrible, but getting the letters and adhesive off and lined back up right is tough. Good luck and can't wait to see the SRP blacked out.

Thanks for the tips. Should have mine done in a week or two when I get time. Then bumper trimming (slightly to give more aggressive of a stance). Dobinsons and wheels and tires in a few months.
But I’ll post up my black out when it’s done.

No more chrome!
2013 SR5. Lots of prep work, plasti dip (minus door handles) and it turned out great.
I still need to trim my rockers so they don’t hang so low or just buy/find some rocker panel covers.

Yeah my supplies came in and I just got a little excited to get rid of the chrome. I am pretty sold now on trimming my rockers. ANTMAN from a different thread laid it out and made it look pretty simple. Itll save about $500+ on 2014 rockers lol.

Trimmed up my rocker panels as well. This was intimidating to make the first cut but it went smooth and turned out great!
