Official Carnage Pics Thread

Well a thread like this was inevitable, but I'm upset I had to be the one to start it. Long story short it was a rough morning and I pulled out of a street parking spot, looking backwards to find an opening in the traffic, found my opening, pulled out from the spot but there was a car still next to me. Her car was pretty messed up, I thought mine would look worse.

Hopefully I'll be the only one to post in this thread. Too bad there isn't a nice ARB or similar bumper yet or I'd use my deductible payment for that instead. Live in learn.

Sorry to hear about it Jesse.
Not that bad. New plastic bumper cover would take care of it. Around $200 for the bumper cover plus paint .
Let me know if you need the part number.

I cringed as I saw these pics. Is it me? But when i'm looking out either of the side mirrors, do the red reflectors look like a red car is on your tail??? I promise I'm not on any mind-altering substances ....

It's not "carnage", they are called "battle scars"

Can you elaborate on this bumper cover? I recently had a little run-in with a tool cabinet in my garage, and I'm thinking I might also be in need

The front plastic piece that is damaged on Jesse's is called the bumper cover.Bolts along the bottom and sides and clips across the top holds them on.I don't have the part numbers written down for the Limited/SR5 ones but I can get them. They are all packed away in my shed out back. Is yours damaged and need replaced or just need painted?

Here is a pic of new front and rear Trail Edition bumper covers.

So harper, that bumper cover piece is only $200? I'll also need the lower portion of the tire flare.

Off-roading has it's lessons, I guess. After hours of driving, fish-tailing, and doing donuts in the mud, a large amount of mud must have collected behind the wheels. I didn't kick it off right away and it froze that night. The next morning, I tried kicking at it but it was rock solid. After driving up a few more trails and quite some distance on a dirt road, I had gone about 10 mi down a paved road when the ABS, Brake, 4-wheel, 4Lo, and curvy warning lights came on. I noticed no strange noises or change in performance of the vehicle. I looked it over but could find nothing. I assumed it was electrical and possibly caused by excessive splashing into the engine compartment. So, I washed it off a bit and took it into the dealer. Turns out the rear driver's side tire sensor wire was completely ripped out. My guess is that the glob of mud encasing it caught the wheel and was ripped violently out, taking the wire with it.

Official Carnage Pics Thread-img_0351-jpg

I am without ABS and crawl control/multi-terrain select. Otherwise the dealer said it is not a problem to drive on. $325 for a complete wiring assembly replacement. Note to all: kick the mud off as soon as possible after mudding . My bad, but seems like a weakness that should not exist.

All things considered, mudding was a blast. Trail conditions were so slick that I slowly slid off the road going under 5 mph, but drove out of the trough without too much difficulty. If it weren't for the KM2's, it would have been a different story. I feel like I have a good grasp of its capabilities now, which feel nice to have under my feet.
