How do you remove the chrome piece under 4RUNNER on the back?
So the Headlights are currently down in GA with Andy from TRS gettting retrofitted with the FX-R's and blacked out, so I figured i would start blacking out all the chrome while I'm waiting on my lights to come back.
So my question is, how do i remove that chrome piece on the back? I plan on covering it in Carbon Fiber with the 4RUNNER painted black, but feel it would be easier to remove that whole piece and bring it in side to remove all the adhesive before putting the wrap on. Please help!

I'm sure someone would tell you to search, but I just tried to pull-up the relevant thread for you via search and it appears there were some under-the-hood changes made here at this site which makes search via the native feature and Google even more useless than they were before.
Suffice it to say there's a great thread here where people talk about just that. It was on the front page not too long ago, so if you look 4-6 pages back I'm sure you'll find it.

Yeah I guess i should have put in there that I searched for it, but that's why I ended up posting a new thread, as I tried searching for chrome removal, remove, rear chrome, and a couple other combinations. I'll look a couple page back and see if i can find that one that you were talking about... Thanks!

So are all you guys who are doing the chrome strips removing the strips, painting, then putting back on the vehicle? or are you just taping them off and painting in place? I will be removing them, but trying to figure out if i'm going to have to remove the entire rear bumper just to wrap the rear chrome strip.

I just ordered $50 worth of Plasti Dip, and I plan on doing mine while on the vehicle.

Removing the chrome garnish
I've done the wrap (matte black) on the garnish of a limited. I even have a couple of pics of the process. I'll post when I get home tonight.
