weather tech mats

Just a few questions. For the driver's side, do they go over the stock "mat clips" fairly easily? or do they need to be removed?

How strong is the smell of these mats? I've had some before which over powered the interior with rubber

thx

Mine go right over the stock clips perfectly. I did not notice ANY odor with these mats.

do you mean the digital fit or the rubber?

I have the digital fit and they go over the mat clips easily. They do not smell either.

Not sure about Weathertech, but with my Huskies I had to remove the clips from the floor. They just pop out with a bit of finesse.

Mine (the ones I mentioned above) are the digital fit, not the 'regular' ones, just wanted to clarify.

Ok, I just ordered the digital liners. All I have to do is remove factory mats and install these? Do they have any clips to secure to any other sections (passenger floor, rear seating etc)?

Popping out the floor mat hooks

To remove the floor mat hooks for the driver side front floor mat, I used a flat head screwdriver to put a slight amount of pressure on the end of the hook, where the arrow is in the illustration, and then shimmied it out by rocking it back and forth and pulling upwards. Not sure if this is the best way to pop it out but it seemed to work for me.

no, you don't remove the hooks for the digital mats. he has husky, says it in his signature.

i might get the husky or another mat i saw on this forum (forget brand), but i will wait to see if weathertech comes out with one. they told me they would. right now, i am using my old weathertech cargo mat from my previous vehicle (Wrangler Unlimited, 4-dr). it's actually a pretty close fit except for where the subwoofer was in the Jeep, there is a cut-out.

I don't like my Husky rear cargo mat that husky says is made for 2010 t4rs with sliding cargo tray. It really needs to be two separate mats. It also will not really work unless you remove the flip-up bar. However, i LOVE my Husky mats for the floor.

Didn't somebody on here have a rear cargo mat for the sliding tray that was custom fit to ONLY cover the carpet on the tray itself?
