Possibly convert from Fj to 4Runner

Been thinking about trading in my 07 FJ for a new 5th gen 4runner.. was wondering if there r any other former FJ owners that made the switch .. If so what do u like about your 4runner as opposed to the FJ .. Appreciate the input

You can actually see out of the rear of the 4R.

I like the styling better on my 4runner Trail Edition. Just as rugged but more refined. Interior is a lot nicer. Back seats recline a bit for comfort. Front seats better too. Windshield is angled more than fj, less prone to rock cracks. You can see out of it. Back tailgate window rolls down. Nav. Awesome stereo. 4 doors. More power than your 07. More offroad modes.

That is a lot. and I know there is more.

BTW. Get the Trail Edition. Rugged offroad but still great and refined with features in the city.

I'd switch for this reason alone.

I would like to have the plastic flooring of the FJ on my 4runner. At least in the trunk.....

I agree with the post above too. I will add, much bigger gas tank so your range is better. Larger rear compartment, Golf clubs fit a heck of allot better. The 2010 Trail is a practical 4 door FJ. Oh, and it's allot quieter on the highway, also courtesy of the angled winshield.

I switched, went from a 2000 Limited 4runner, to 2007 FJ Trd, to Audi Allroad, back to a 4runner Trail and have never been happier. Also, takes regular unleaded unlike my FJ or Allroad.

I was ready to buy an FJ right up to the Friday night I saw my TE...

Bought and drove home the TE on Saturday. As stated above..all the off road capabilities of the FJ..but with a few more amenities.

Good luck,

Pat

Fj

I sold my 07 FJ to get my TE. Like others have said, the TE is a more functional and practical version of the FJ. I miss the unique styling of my FJ but not much else.

I traded in a 2008 FJ for a 2010 Trail Edition.

A good choice IMHO!

The 4 windshield rock pecks in 6 weeks on my 09 FJ was enough to make me switch! Additionally, I prefer the styling, ride comfort, technology and space over the FJ. I will say the FJ, at the time (Dec 2009), held its value and traded pretty well.

You won't look back once you're in your 4R.

Ditto

Ditto on most of the posts. I traded in my 07 FJ for a used 2010 SR5. Only thing I miss is the plastic floors in some respects.

I eventually want to trade up to a TE or limited.

Ok .. I can say I am now a convert..
Traded in the FJ and now a proud owner of a Mag Gray 4x4 SR5. Was hoping for a TE but this will do just fine.. Looking forward to a lift for it and other mods ...

I know about the windshield hits on the FJ.. I had three nice little cracks in my FJ prior to the trade in.
