Dealer installed leather seats - all the same?

I just took delivery of a 2011 SR5 with dealer installed leather. (pretty sure it's Custom Soft Trim)

Curious if anyone knows what the piece of cloth that is attached to the driver's side seat is for? (it hangs down between the right side of the seat and the center console) Even though it's practically invisible, it looks kinda cheesy - just stitched on the thigh bolster and tucked in that space that catches crumbs and loose change.

Does anyone else have this "feature" on their leather seats?

Also, my leather seat covers zip on, with zippers on the back edges of the seats - is this typical of the T4R leather package that is installed as an extra option?

My 2010 leather seats are the same as you describe for your 11. My assumption regarding that piece of "carpet looking" material between the seat and the console is to fill in the place for the electric seat controls such that the seat can be used on either the left or right side. My seats also have the zipper you pointed out. Basically, I think all of this is done for ease of different options.

Lots of different aftermarket leather kits out there. I know in my area, there is 3 or 4 different options, at least. Just wanted to point out that comparing aftermarket kits may not always be apples to apples.

This site is great and has a ton of collective wisdom -thanks for the info - pretty much what I expected. The classic soft trim is close to OEM but not quite as snug on the seat. I think the leather is O- some minor wrinkling, as it is not all consistently smooth like stock. That piece of carpet is bush-league, but considering that this model had some cost-cutting, I guess it's OK. Overall very pleased with the 2010-2011, as it seems most on this board are. (I actually doubled-down this time - still have my 2000 SR5n which cost about the same $$ - not bad for vehicles 11 years apart).

I had after market leather put in and it is different. Mine is more supple than what was is at the dealer. If can go that route. Just add the leather.
