Another Subjective and Terribily Written Negative Review--AAA

Just thought I'd share yet another poorly written, garbage review I came across in my AAA magazine, which is negative, and has no other purpose than manipulating and dissuading potential would-be buyers. Without even being an owner yet, I could write a huge block of text on all the fallacies of this review, but I figured I'd let you guys do it and pick it apart.

That is a terrible review. Really just focused on three topics: Styling, door sound, and offroad capabilities.

I agree with them about the door sound. It is the one thing that bothers me the most. It just doesn't seam to get better with age.

I love AAA... they have saved my ass before. But that review was mailed in from someone riding the short bus... There was no though involved other than giving the 4Runner a quick roast. Hes right though... my 2011 handles great!

Wow, that article is written by an idiot. His review consisted of "its boxy" and the door sounds tinny. How can the Range Rover be "a sculpture" then? Its the boxiest thing on the road by far. And I don't know what the idiot is talking about with the fact the he can't shift into 4 while moving. Seems to work just fine for me.

Dear writer,

You can shift to 4WD on the fly. Only 4L requires stopping and shifting into N. You would probably be better suited with a vehicle that lets a computer decide when it sends torque to the rear wheels.

You also sound like a smug **** that took all of 5 minutes to get intimate with the car. You probably hear that from your wife, too, though.

Good day,

Quentin

Wow, that is a negative review. People are still hating on Toyota after those recalls.

I'm convinced those recalls were the labor union's doing.

That is a pretty lame review. You can definitely tell that this person spent all of about 1 hour with the vehicle. Also, he admitted that he considered toyota's recent woes in his review. Probably one of those ford till I die guys. I used to work for a guy in the AF that wouldn't let you park in his driveway unless you drove a Ford..... so lame!

Yeah and the funny thing is that there is a recall on the new f=150s and various other ford models for something catching fires. I read that they had two trucks catch fire at the plant!

I love to see you guys write car reviews and not be biased a little when comparing a Jeep to a Toyota.
It's a person's opinion and they are paid for that opinion and some will agree and some won't;I'd love to be paid for my opinion.

Seriously, why are we making a big deal of these reviews which mean pretty much nothing to current 4Runner owners of any generation.

Nobody likes the doors. I guess I'm weird because I like them and view the doors as light and sure functioning.

I don't really care that he didn't like the 4r, but he spouts off stuff that is totally irrelevant or outright wrong. He babbles on about how he had to stop the vehicle to put it into 4wd and says that toyota should join the 21st century because all other vehicles can do it. As you probably know, it most definitely can.

I would frown upon nonsense like this no matter what vehicle he's reviewing.

We know not everyone is going to have the same 4runners "zen" that we do. This truck is not for everyone, so I take this opinion with a grain of salt. Overall I am happy with my TE, but I am not so immersed in my love affair with the 4R'er to recongnize that Toyota didnt get "everything" right with the 5th gens. The truth does have hair on her chin in some cases. Price and interior fit and finish is one of them. Non flexible build packages is another. However, having owned three 4runners I know the off road capabilities, performace, relability, and low cost of ownership do off-set the shorfalls - its just that the payback on these items take longer to realize than everyday bells and whisltes.
