Antenna Always Hits Garage Door

Do other people have problems with the antenna always hitting their garage door when entering or leaving a garage? I wonder if this will inpact the longer term reliability of it.

Have a read into this thread and will give you some alternatives.

It's not going to hurt anything. I've been smacking mine for close to a year and it's not showing any wear. I like the height of the antenna. It always lets me know when I'm running out of room since it's an 1" or so above my rack.

Haven't tried it on my 4runner since it clears my garage fine, but on my F150 I just screwed the ball off the top, cut the antenna with diagonal cutters and screwed the ball back on.
