Rear Storage & Leveling Platform

Just added a storage and sleeping platform to my 2023 OR, inspired by Antman, mscot, and others. Prior to building the platform, I removed the factory carpet and foam and installed a layer of sound dampening, with a layer of black trunk carpet on top of that. Really happy with the results as shown below.

Notable features of the platform include covering it with a layer of rubber (non-slip, gym type) matting about 0.1" thick and installing stair nosing trim along the edge of the platform to protect against bumps and scratches.

Thanks! Lack of tool storage space was my main gripe with the 4Runner, so I'm glad to have that resolved.

Thanks! The end result actually exceed my expectations. My last step on this project will be installing some motion-activated LED lights so I can see in the storage compartments at night.

This looks very good and clean. Great job and too bad you are not closer to SoCal, haha.

looks awesome. add a tie down strip to either side and itll work great for holding gear down.

Did/do you have 3rd row seats? I'm debating removing my 3rd row seats to get a little more storage and doing something like this.

OP did not, but I did. I went higher than the previous height of the 3rd row.

Really like this! Can't quite see - is your platform/frame secured to the car in any way?
