Shrockworks turn signal wiring

The Shrockworks bumper comes with a 3 wire harness with 1157 bulbs, and the factory harness is 2 wire. I've had the turn signals running off the 2 wires from the factory without issues. but now i have a set of amber to white switch back bulbs and was wondering if it possible to wire it up to function correctly using the 3 wires from the Shrockworks bumper the the factory 2 wire. Right now the white wire from the 3 wire on the bumpers doesn't go to anything. When plug it in the the hot wire both amber and white light up. Any help would be appreciated.

I gather your new bumper didn't come with an electrical diagram - seems like it should have. An 1157 is a dual filament bulb; so the 3 wire harness is probably a power wire for each filament of the 1157 bulb and a ground. You can verify this with a meter; and also verify what what you're getting from the factory harness and then connect things up the way you want.

The 1157 bulbs are dual-filament: one filament for the running lights (which usually uses a lower power) and one for the turn signals (which uses a higher power). That's why the Shrockworks harness has 3 wires: ground, running light, and turn signal.
Since your factory harness only has 2 wires, it was likely designed to combine the functions or support only one. Here's what you can do:
1. Figure out which wire on your factory harness is the ground and which is for the turn signal.
2. Attach the ground wire from the Shrockworks harness (usually black) to the ground on your factory harness.
3. Attach the turn signal wire from the Shrockworks harness (often red or yellow) to the hot wire on your factory harness.
4. Connect the running light wire from the Shrockworks harness (usually white) to a new power source that turns on with your running lights, possibly splicing it from another running light wire on your vehicle.

I figured it was going to be something like this. I found out the factory turn/running light is an 1156.
I was hoping not to have to run extra wires, but it is what it is.
