Trail wheels, Anyone replaced the center caps?

Has anyone replaced the bulky center caps on the Trail Edition. When i look at the Rubicon Trail pics i like that it has no center caps... Anyone tried or know if they will fit?

I asked a similar question in another thread w/o much response. I too like the no cap look, or, at least, smaller ones would be nice. The fronts look cool as is but I was thinking of painting the inside of the rear hubs with glossy black enamel. Think there's any downside to this?

I thought about using the center caps from a 4th Gen Sport but while they fit, they just don't quite match.

"Don't be a *****, put the centercaps in!"

i had to use the quote.

It looks pretty cool that way, but when the hub's start rusting might i suggest throwing them in.

At one point I read that the center caps from the FJ Cruiser 17" Aluminum wheels would snap into the trail wheels. Those don't stick out as much. I've never tested this though, so I am not sure if its true or not. Just something I remember reading at one point.

Not familiar with the quote.
My rear hubs are already rusting as you can tell from the pics.
Lots of Sequoia's round here might just have to ask my neighbors if I can borrow to test the fit.

If you pop the caps off, and look at the back the logo is held on by two tiny little clips. Push on them and the logo will pop right off. Of course you'll have two little holes in the caps then, but no logos!

I happen to have a leftover center cap from my spare alloy FJ wheel. I tried it on my 4R Trail wheels but it doesn't fit. Just an FYI for someone researching.
