Good luck.
Boy, you can say that again. I live in North Carolina but only 22 miles south of Virginia. If I use my local zip code to "build my own", it won't let me select leather and then choose the convenience package even though I can go to the dealer website and see them in stock. But I change my zip to virginia and I get an entirely different set of screens come up that conveniently let me select the same model and then select a premium options package that includes leather, sunroof, and various other things. Very frustrating!

ah that sucks. Hey, my 4runner came from a McGeorge Toyota down in richmond. I had my dealership in northern virginia transfer my 4runner to their dealership and i bought from them. Maybe that will help you out.

mines a sr5 4x4 premium package, leather, heated seats, moon roof

Yeah, North Carolina is part of Southeast Toyota's region (a private distributor). I'd recommend reading-up on SET a little. You'll probably get better pricing and options outside their six states. If you try to build your vehicle using an SET zip code you'll be directed to their local inventory.

That's because Toyota breaks it down into 12 separate regions with all but 2-3 of them privately owned I believe. North Carolina is in one region and Virginia another. Each region has their own way of doing business and what they order or can get easily.Your kinda lucky that you live on the border of 2 regions.

With today's fragile economies and the higher cost of importing vehicles ,they are not mass producing 4Runners like they did in the past so inventories are kept relatively low. When I bought my last 4Runner back in 06 there were I'd guess 40-50 of them to choose from on the lot and every Toyota dealer around here was like that back then.

Here is a list of the 12 regions..... Determining Your Region for Toyota Deals - U.S. News Rankings and Reviews

Like others said, the SET and GST are the mafias that tries to screw every Toyota buyer in that area.
