Brought ours home tonight

Took a couple months to nail down exactly what we were looking for but when we did, we found one and jumped on it. Actually found two, one at a dealer an hour away (posted price dealership) and one at a dealer in town. The local dealer was willing to match the far away store so we went to check it lout.

It was a new delivery, and when we sat down in it for our test drive we saw it had one mile on the clock - doesn't get much newer than that. Test drive went fine, so we went in to do the deal. Price-wise there were no surprises, and the finance department went to work and came up with an interest rate half a percent better than what we already had lined up. We also got more for our trade-in (07 Santa Fe) than we expected so this ranks way up there as far as easy drama-free car purchases we've had in a long time, maybe ever.

It's a magnetic grey SR5 with Premium Pkg and moonroof. Lacking automagic climate control which I might miss but certainly can live without.

Kinda surprised that this tank (already nicknamed "Canyonero") lacks some features that our economy car ('10 Mazda3) has, like memory seats and automatic headlights. They're filed under 'nice to have but not required to live'.

Not many plans for fiddling with this wagon; we put our fun car money into Miatas. We'll start looking for a decent car trailer and start our summer adventure in the coming weeks.

Congratulations... great choice... I am sure you will have many years of fun.

BTW, if you don't mind, please post your price and the dealer & rep you dealt with so that anyone searching the forums will get a good idea of what to pay for.

Congrats, we are now over a week into ours and loving it. I'd list automatic climate control along with the other things I can live without. I've never had a vehicle with it and maybe it takes some getting used to but I've driven vehicles that had that and/or dual zone climate control and found both to be basically useless in my opinion. I've never had any trouble just turning a dial to find a comfortable temp based on the current conditions inside and out. The dual zone thing I don't really get at all. Other than the air that is blowing directly on you at the moment it comes out of the vent, the overall interior climate is going to be the same no matter what you set each side to.

My biggest fear is bringing it to work and having the guys there mock me for buying the "F" Edition.

Numbers:
sticker 36864
our price: 34099
tax/tags/gap: 1895
trade-in net: (2238)
out the door: 33856

I thought I had the invoice price somewhere in my emails but can't find it. The wife might have it in her email.

Frankly the best part of the deal was getting more than we expected on our trade-in. It was a 35000-mile 07 Santa Fe with some scrapes on the side and hail dings on the hood. I would have been happy breaking even with what we still owed on it. They came back from evaluating it and I was ready for a fight but they threw out a number and I had to stop myself from doing back flips.

EDIT to add

Dealer was Toyota of Waldorf (MD), which is our local dealer. Blake Zweifel was our internet sales dude and was very good at responding and answering questions through email, and was just as quick to get us through this process in person.
