Need a 2010/11 Trail Edition

I am on the hunt and I know what I want, new or used 2010/11 Trail Edition w/KDSS and NAV. Does anyone know of any in Texas for sale? I have found a few in Colorado and the North East but paying taxes in two states and the drive to bring them back makes them less appealing. Just thought I would reach out to a community obsessed with 5th gen TE's.

Thanks

Probably not much help but there is a gray one on the lot here in the Boise, ID area with KDSS and NAV. I was looking at it, but I don't want the factory NAV so I passed on it.

Yeah I really would like to buy one in Texas. Looks like I might have to get a limited. Can I get it with KDSS though?

KDSS is only available on the TE.
XREAS on the limited.

I got my TE from Champion Toyota in Austin, and they're a little scarse in texas right now.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. I have been to a lot of dealers in Houston and none of them have them or have any on order. Some told me that they could not even order one for me and that Toyota is not making them anymore, which I found hard to believe. Any truth to that?

Apparently there is a new one in the east somewhere that dealer would like to bring in, but they want like 45k OTD and I am not wanting to pay that. I found one in Colorado used for 35K, w/28k miles on it, exactly how I want it, sliders installed already, but after paying taxes in both states it will be more like 42k.

I need a new one before May. Currently driving a 96' 4runner limited w/245k on the odo, LOVE the vehicle and I want another...

I have, and according to them it does. It has NAV too and they usually come together.

I'm looking for one too. I just did a mass search on autotrader for new 4runners with kdss and there seems to be a small but decent selection of 4runners spreadout across the country that is trail with kdss. The only thing that bugs me is that dealerships don't know how to advertise these TE models. I found one place that listed KDSS in their description for all their 4runners even their 2wd models - is that possible?

Paying $42k on one that has 28k miles already seems like a lot considering you could get a brand new one for less than that if you found one in your state, no?

The right deal will come along. I got my certified TE in perfect shape (granted without nav or kdss) from a dealer in NY for $28K in November (had 14K miles at the time). I came across it on the first day they listed it, committed over the phone, flew up a drove it home with a temp NY transport permit. They registered the truck in VA over the phone for me so I didn't pay taxes in 2 states.

Just picked up my wife's new 2010 Black TE on Monday. It was the last new one in Texas. My dealer in Houston told me that there was only two TE's available in the GST area. The other one was silver and located in Missouri. The dealer said they could get it for me but they would pass on the shipping cost to me. approx. $400.

Why are you concerned about paying taxes in 2 states?

That is not how it works. Contact your state DMV and the other state's DMV and they will explain to you that either you will pay no sales tax in the state or purchase (but yo uwill pay sales tax in state of registration), or you will pay sales tax in state of purchase and it will get credited to you in home state of registration.

Good luck, and tehre seem to a lot of TE's available on the West Coast, just slim color selection.

I was ready to pull the trigger this morning on a TE in Colorado with everything I wanted. Turns out it was sold on Saturday... I'm sure the buyer is on this forum, congrats to you.

I would appreciate any tips on finding a TE with KDSS/Nav for sale. I am willing to travel as well as ship the vehicle into Texas. I am only avoiding Salsa Red and Shoreline Blue at the moment; however, this might change as I get more desperate.

Thanks in advance.

I understand the frustration of searching for them in TX. I saw an ad on Toyota of Plano's website for a TE. I called today and even the salesman said he thought it was odd. Sure enough, it was an input error, and was actually a Limited.
