Awynt's Thread of Ballyhoo and Tomfoolery (pics and vids)

The only trail I remember the name of that we hit yesterday is Illinois Gulch. Here are some videos of my stock 4Runner going up a couple of pretty steep inclines. Yeah, yeah, I know... my mall crawler has nothing on some of the rigs here LOL! Mine is the 4Runner (obvsl), DH's rig is the Bronco, our buddy Matt's rig is the white Jeep, and our buddy "Batman" owns the Rubicon.

I was pretty impressed with the 4Low + A-Trac in the 4Runner. It handled everything really well... even when I managed to lodge the passenger rear tire in the fender well....

A picture of Gandalf before the trails, still pretty and unmarred :

So, after all is said and done, here is the result of a vehicle that is just as wide as some of the trails:

Don't worry, DH is in class for auto body restoration, and his next semesters cover wet sanding and painting.

So, what does a hardcore wheelin' toddler do while Momma is working her way up Illinois Gulch? This:

AJ says EEF YOU to bouncy trails.

holy crap if i came home with those scratches i would immediately put my Glock to my dome and end it.

LOL! Don't wheel much, do ya? :P

It's ok, though, no need to end it. DH will be able to wet sand and buff the scratches out. And if not, he can repaint it. It's what I bought it for, trails and offroading and camping in the wilderness. Bound to get some battle scars doing that type of thing :bigok:

Thats right! you bought it for trails, then expect to get scratches. My truck got its first scratches at the 1000 mile mark, welcome to the club!

hofs05 had a similar paint problem. Luckily my brother owns a detailing company and it now looks brand new.

Most ppl who take thier trucks wheelin don't honestly care about the pinstripes. It's just a badge of honor and the way it is.. lol. My boss just bought a brand new jeep, took it out the same week, and scratched it to hell and back. He's like, eh, that's what I bought it for.. lol

haha. No, not yet at least. I'll take my 4runner off roading, but, not anything like what my dad does below... I've been around jeeps a lot with my dad down in Dallas. He is a big jeep guy. Here are a few pics of his rigs...

this was in clayton, OK

I had a bunch of scratches on mine the first week I got it - from going down some trail off of Rampart Range. Took it to Finish Line in Denver, I don't know what the stuff was - but they came right off. Guess I was lucky?

I heart Rampart Range trails <3

We should all get together soon and do a run!!!!

I go with I AM SAM, she has a crew that she runs with. I have met a couple of them a few times, all great guys. We always have fun!

Send me or Sam a PM and we can get a hold of ya when we head out next!
