2011 Trail Edition badges?
New guy here! Proud owner of a brand new 2011 Salsa Red Trail Edition 4runner! Just traded out of an 07' F150 with a 6" lift (gas was killing me and I fell in love with the 5th gens!)
But back to what I was saying, I noticed that on the 09' trail editions they had badges that said "trail edition". What happened to these? Does anyone know where to get them (the badges)?
Edit: I know a guy that can make them, anyone interested?

Personally I was kind of happy my TE already came de-badged, but are you talking about the 4th gen sport edition? None of the 5th gen Trails ever had a badge to my knowledge.
Edit: Oops I forgot they made a 4th gen Trail...was that only in '09?

They are the only years I have ever seen them made with badges (but don't hold me to that) and the sells were poor due to the lack of options like a hood scoop and sliding back glass so you almost never see one because most just bought the sport edition.

It didn't have a sliding rear window? Weird. I wonder if Toyota is going to offer some of these Frankenstein Editions with the 5th Gen. I think by the end of the 4th gen life cycle they had the Limited, SR5, Sport Edition, Urban Runner, Trail Edition, and the XSP.

The 09 Trail Edition had everything that the regular SR5 came equiped with, including the retractible rear window. it also had the TomTom Nav system, Bilstein shocks, Locking rear axle and the unique Trail Edition badges on the side. It did not have 4WD badges. The rear window switch was on the console, not on the dash.

It was designed to be removable to use outside the T4R as in on the hiking trail. As it went, it was only ok--small 3.5 screen, hard to see and use from the driver's seat. I wound up using a Garmin mounted (ProClip) much closer to my line of sight. That experience told me that I would probably never get any vehicle with a built in Nav system. The setup was much better as a screen for the audio system, discs and Ipod.

Maybe some sort of grill badge would be cool like the old skool TEQ badges you see on old FJ40s.
Or like the Trail Team FJ Cruiser, only a 4Runner design and some different coloring?

When I first got my '09 Trail Edition, I had the parts guy look up the "Trail Edition" badge (so I could put one on the lift gate) but nothing was ever listed in the parts guide. I don't think they ever considered making any for replacement parts.
Also, Contrary to what one poster said, sales were not low because of "lack of options" like hood scoop and non-retractible rear window), they just didn't make very many at all. Probably not more than a few hundred, if that. I personally only knew of about 10 nation wide, mine included. Overall, sales of '09 T4R's were down from prior years--recession and gas prices hit all big 4WD's, not just Toyota. And, it did have a retractible rear window, the switch was moved from the dash to the center console for all '09 T4Rs.
Sorry to say that I no longer have Yogi 4, but he has found a good home.
(and yes, I said he--I could never call a rugged 4WD "she"!)
