Sound system and rear view project

Hey all.

first of all, I did search. Nothing turned up for this as far as I could see..

I plan on changing the speakers out in the truck.
I already have on order Boston acoustics SR65 and 60SE components, headunit and dynamat, already have a diamond 12" sub, already have amps, and wiring..

What I need to know is:

1) Where can I find spacers for the speakers?
2) Are there any generic t4r specific subwoofer boxes available around?
3) Rear view camera.. does toyota use a different rear garnish to fit the camera or do they use the same garnish and just do or do not stick the camera in there? ( i want to run a separate LCD screen for the rear view only, and want to get my own camera)

thanks in advance.

Congrats, I am sure you will be much happier with the sound after you are done!!!

1) I think the easiest thing to do is make the spacers yourself with MDF and a jigsaw. But I have heard of people buying them on Ebay and also at Tacotunes.

2) I have not seen any specific 4runner boxes out yet. Everything I have seen has been custom fiberglass enclosures.

3) Sorry, cant help you here

Good luck and make sure you snap some photos so we can see how it turns out, especially amp mounting and the box.

Thx

#3 Toyota does use a different garnish for 4Runner handle panel with B.U. Cam.

Pilot, do you happen to know what the difference is? Is the difference only the little hole/slot for the camera, or something in the actual "meat" of the garnish, too?

Looks like I may have to come up with an alternative fitment solution unless I can just cut the garnish..

another question..

How big of a difference is there between Metra kit and, say, scosche?
I know metra build some crappy quality stuff when it gets complex.. (say, a kit for my current car is known to fall apart)

ok, truck is arriving this wednesday..

Did anyone get the steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket stereo? which controller was used?
It appears that the PAC SWIPs won't work on 2011... :\
