Largest Battery that can fit in the slot???

Any ideas? I think that maybe the Odyssey PC2150 is the largest that will fit. I am not certain about the height of the cavity once the bonnet is closed and latched. If you know the answers, please let me know. I know the Odyssey 1750 will fit, but if I can get the 2150 in as my reserve battery and use the 1750 as my main battery it would be really slick.

Thanks for the help.

Reata

P.S. Battery trays and containment contraptions to hold it place. Any suggestions?

The Kodiak kit comes with two PC1200 set back to back which gives it a foot print of roughly:
  • Length 13"
  • Width 7 11/16"
  • Height 10"(including the isolator that sits on top)
So I think the PC2150(L13" x W6.8" x H9.81") would just barely fit but don't go buying stuff based on anything I say.

Sorry for my ignorance but what is the purpose of adding two smaller batteries?

Longer life? Greater capacity?

I plan on changing out all the incandescent bulbs with LEDs like so many others have done on this forum. Each bulb draws a few milliamps, effectually increasing battery capacity.

Please educate me,

Thanks,

Man Kingpin that is one clean engine bay! Reminds me I need to spend a free afternoon (do those exist?) cleaning all the leftover mud/dust out of mine that a simple spraydown doesn't get.

Kingpin, thanks. I had the PC2150 in Land ROver and it worked well for my uses. Havent really considered having two of them, but it is a great thought. There is ample room on both sides of the engine bay. This would be great when the owner has a number of heavy power users on board. Fridge, Winch, and all sorts of great gear, but even better it would truly extend the camping event while leaving the truck as base camp and hiking or biking. I will have to dig into this deeper.
