brad2064's build thread

Been on here for a little while now. Mostly just learning and seeing what others have done. I have just finished my lift and tire install so i figured i would post some pics. I tried to keep my build cheap, while still using quality components. I like the way it turned out so far, and still hope to add a rack and sliders eventually. I love the way it rides, better than stock in my opinion, but i do notice a slight power loss with the larger tires. Thanks again to all those that answered questions through my constant PM's. Well here is what I have done so far to my 2011 BP T4R SR5 4x4: RavenSpeed Antenna, Husky Liners, Bilstein 5100's on all four corners with the fronts set at 2.5", 2" rear All-Pro Springs, 1.5" All-Pro wheel spacers, 285/70r17 Goodyear Duratracs. In addition i have de-badged it, removed the rocker panels, removed the lower front fender air dam, and extensive front inner fender trimming. Sorry the pics suck i had to adjust the brightness and contrast because the photo lighting was horrible.

Stock:

With the lift installed:

Complete for now:

For the future i am still debating blacking out wheels, grille, fog bezels, handles, accent chrome, and matte black hood. Plus rack and sliders.

Just out of curiosity, why did you remove the rocker panels? Did something else require you to do so?

lmoody003- i have only been driving for two days on it so far but i was at 18.1 and am now down to 17.9 and assume it will drop further. I hav ethe tires at about 38PSI.

kmiller8821- I removed the rocker panels because i wanted the higher ground clearence, made it look taller, and i didnt want to worry about blacking out that chrome strip on the rockers. Once removed i used 3M undercoating spray to coat the under carriage where the panels were removed.

Your tires should be at 44 psi, minimum. They are LT, not P, which means they have to be set higher to carry the same load. This will also improve the mileage and increase the longevity.

You aren't alone. A couple of us were going bonkers trying to calculate it until finally I emailed a tire guy and asked. The inflation tables are considered "proprietary information" and it's not published online so tire stores are really the only place to find out the right number.

I've added more load to the truck, so I run mine at 50 now, but I've got 30k on them and still half the tread. I will buy another set for certain.

SeattleMike- thanks for the PSI info. I put about 45PSI in last night and the drive this morning made a noticable difference.

On a side note, i trimmed more in the inner front fenders. I didnt think going with 1.5" wheelspacers would neccesitate such drastic trimming but it has, Its not noticeable unless you are sticking your head in the wheel well to see it. I also ordered an AVS Bugflector.

Same here... we always seem to want what we don't have rather than be happy with our original favorite choice. I keep wishing I got a black one now.

Great lift choice Brad... definitely makes me want to head out and crank my Bilsteins up to 2.5" like you now.

I often times wish I had the mad grey instead of black!!

Brad2064 - I love the look you have going. The SR5 wheels look great with the duratracs and the lift.
