Installed Borla Exhaust

Hi everyone!

first time in this forum but not new to the game.

I havent notice anyone posting the 2010 Borla exhaust sound clips so I thought I would help out.

I just installed it yesterday. I had to cut the pipe to remove it. The tail pipe bolt did not want to come out.

here's a link to a video I made.

The Borla sounds awesome when accelerating but once in cruising speed its very quiet.

Not bad, I'm more interested as to what it sounds like while you're driving inside the vehicle vice the outside sound. Care to go for a test drive and do another video?

no offense.. but sound more sports car like than truck ..

i had an evo x and a s2000 and i want to get away from the sporty deep tone to a more raw truck sound

any exhaust that sound like that?

Thanks for the sound clip, another member has this setup as well but didnt put any clips of it. Im sure if you include an in cabin vid of acceleration that would be nice as well. Where'd you get it from?

Sounds pretty good. I think we all want a more detailed video though haha.... set the camera down and do an acceleration video... and do an inside the cabin acceleration + highway speeds video.

It sounds pretty similar to the TRD exhaust for the Tacoma I think. From what I've read the TRD exhaust is made by Borla so it doesn't surprise me.

Thanks for posting and nice tone, but yeah, not a truck exhaust. But, that's the beauty of it all...It's your truck.

Sounds good.....but like others commented sounds like a sports car. Do you have an intake?

I guess it would be hard to get a deep throaty sound from a V6.

Oh how I miss my Tundra's 5.7 with AFE intake

Oh you can, but it's hard to get the tone right with all the catalytic converters in the way. I actually think if my wife heard he burble of the the OP's exhaust, I would be made to order it.

So OP, is there an improvement to the power curve or anything?

Sorry, I can't help but think less of you when you won't take the time to spell things right or use proper grammar. Deal with it. I don't care if you're ESL either, because I am too.

Don't worry. I'm getting some more videos ready.

I want to make sure I get the sound perfect.

I bought it from autoanything. It came really quick.

Well if you want a truck sound I guess a V8 would be a proper sound. V6 always sound sporty to me.

It does sound like the TRD exhaust for a Tacoma.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll post some more videos.

I did notice the engine response a bit better. It easly revs up faster. I'll do a trip next weekend see if my MPG's changed.

So far I only have stock intake. I think next month I'll install the TRD intake.

It has that Porsche Cayenne sound to me. My friends PC sounds just like your vid, but a little louder. I like it. Just another item to put on the list... Thanks.

On another note, you are the second person to install this system that had to cut the original system due to a bolt not being able to be removed. Any detail on which one and why you could not remove it? Rusted or just gates of hell tight?

This sound exactly like my old borla on my 3rd gen. Still contemplating on this versus a muffler swap. Money is first going into a lift and tires.

There are pleanty but none that fit to a V6. I would love my t4r to sound like my 396 but I'm loosing faith in finding anything. I would just like to find somthing with some performance gains. Does that system replace the y pipe, or does it bolt on after the resonators.

If it bolts on after the y pipe just do a muffler swap, cheaper and same results you can throw on a fancy tip also.

Sounds great and i really dont think it sounds like a sports car. I think it has just enough deep tone without being annoying. It almost sounds exactly like the borla I had on my RRS (v8). I will be researching it with the TRD intake, should be a great combo. Thanks for posting it.
