Delay on incoming bluetooth calls
Hi all,
I have my HTC Incredible running Froyo paired with my JBL Navi system. When I make outgoing calls, all works perfect. But on incoming calls, it seems there is a delay as to when the caller can hear me, so I have to say "hello", they don't hear me, and I say "hello" again and everything starts working from there just fine.
Anyone else experience this? Is it by design maybe?

sometimes my iPhone does that, But, i think it's because the phone is establishing a connection via Bluetooth to the 4runner. I noticed this happened a few days ago when i got a incoming call while i was listening to a CD. If i'm streaming music from my iphone to my 4runner and a call comes in, i don't notice this lag. I think its' because the phone has already established a link via bluetooth.
try and stream music to your car, and have someone call you and see if there is still a lag and report back.

I have the NAV system paired with my iPhone 3gs. I'm personally not seeing this symptom, mine works extremely well.
I answer with the button on the sterring wheel, and sometimes with the green button on the nav. In either case, I haven't found any delay or anything. Have you tried just deleting your phone and repairing it?

I have the same phone and I have that 2-3 second lag on my limited as well when answering calls. Just thought it was by design. Would be interesting to know if it was just our phones.
I've done deleting and re-entering the phone. It pairs fine as its done right when I turn on the car. Mine always has that lag when answering, even after multiple calls.

Not sure what it is - but every car bluetooth system I have ever used, including my Limited with my DroidX, has the same issue.

I have a half second delay when I get an incomming call on my Droid X. But after that it works fine. My issue is I can't stream audio from my phone and still make bluetooth phone calls at the same time. If I connect the phone as a BT media device, it disconnects as a BT phone and I cannot receive phone calls.

Maybe it's an Android thing. Hmph. It's not a huge deal by any means, it just means I have to remind myself to make sure I say hello twice. Thanks for the feedback all!

I have had the same delay issue with a BB Storm and then with the iPhone 4. Its an annoying problem. I have learned to wait a full second after pushing the answer button before I say hello. I previously drove a Lexus car with the same nav and BT setup and it never had this problem.

Mine does the same. I have the nav so when a call comes in I wait until the counter starts on the screen. Once it reads "1" I can then say hello.

I'm using a windows mobile 6.1 phone and it has the same problem. I just learned to wait a second or two after clicking the call and then proceeding with the call.

Ahh, so there is a time delay. I thought it was waiting for some input (my voice) first. Now that I know that I can stop double-talking.

Considering all the problems I have ever had with electrical systems in vehicles my whole life, I am certain it is because the electrical signal needed to activate the phone system has to first travel from the front dash, back to both tail lights, travel through the trailer towing harness up to and through the transmission system, then all interior lights including the glove box, then back to the nav system in order to turn on the phone. Even at almost the speed of light, going through all those wires takes a few seconds.......lol
Sorry, just had to go there.

Apple 3gs I-phone with delay also. I just hit the green button or steering wheel control and wait a second or 2, then say hello and hope they didnt hang up becuase of the delay.
