What a milestone!
Let's see- 5 years, 5 months, 10 days since my SR5-P was unfrozen from the dealer's lot, quite literally it took them an hour to dig it out. I never even test drove it first, lol. It's never been back, not once.
During it's stay with me I have:
*replaced the windshield
*replaced the tires
*changed the oil/filter 10 times
*changed the diff/transfer case oil 3 times
*replaced the front wiper blades twice
*replaced the brake pads and rotors
*replaced both front wheel bearings.
All wear items except (arguably) the wheel bearings which I'm confident were ruined by splashing through mud at speed...
The airbag light came on for a few months and decided to fix itself.
That's it. This truck is bullet proof, and He ain't no mall crawler!
What has it been through in 100,000 miles?
*At least 2 blizzards with snow past the doors- like nothing.
*Mud that shouldn't have been passable- like nothing.
*Steep climbs, and off camber stuff that had me crapping my pants- like nothing.
*Rock crawling that left my skid plates bashed to hell, ripped off my passenger catalytic converter heat shield, cracked and gouged my front bumper and tried to rip off my rear bumper- again like nothing.
*I have been high centered on a log and teeter-tottered my way off taking hunks of wood with me...
*I have pinstripes all the way down the sides that magically disappear when waxed.
*I have had the entire right side of my truck resting on a giant boulder-sliding from front tire to rock slider to rear tire to clear an obstacle.
*I've been up trails so steep all I could see was sky.
*I have towed my boat
thousands of miles.
*I have seen bears in the woods, twice.
*I have climbed trails at night to watch shooting stars and skies so clear you could see satellites passing overhead.
*I have used it as a base camp.
*I have slept in the back in 27 degree weather.
*I have met life-long friends from across this country thanks to this forum and my T4R.
Amazing friends!
In 46 years I have only had one other vehicle that I could stand enough to make it through the 6 figure mark. I think this one is just getting broken in!
Seriously, the interior looks like new. Leather seats are still firm with the only wear showing on the seat bolster- and that is only wrinkles. Perfect.
I can't think of any other single vehicle that suits my needs better and I am thankful to own this beast.
Thanks Toyota. Thanks T4R.org. Here's to another 100K.
Next tank will be Premium to celebrate...
