One thing I noticed that I did not see in the reviews, besides the faster throttle response, the 4R upshifts faster if I push the gas pedal a bit more, like if I want to pass a car, or speed up on the highway.
Before, I had to push the pedal quite a bit for the 4R to upshift, and quite often it would upshift 2 gears or more - the engine would all of a sudden rev very high and the 4R would jump forward.
With the sprint booster it is much easier to control the upshifts.
I set it to green level 8. The red is waaaaay to responsive and hard to control for me.

Thanks for the feedback. What you mentioned is one of the reasons I have some customers say they've gotten better gas mileage. Rpm's spiking constantly on a trip will just burn more fuel.

From my experience it seems green 7-9 is the favorite setting for a nice linear feel, without it being too aggressive. I have these back in stock again for anyone wanting to order.

The next day I get on a 4 lane highway and slowly merge into traffic. A few minutes later I try to goose it with my normal foot pressure to pass a car and WTF??? No response! I wind up having to mash the pedal almost to the floor, where at Green 8 it used to be just a small foot movement to get the same response. The OEM drive-by-wire programming is really annoying.

Yep, it's absolutely pathetic how slow the factory programming is. It's a turtle, but luckily it can be fixed.

does this affect the RPM of the shifts, or will it still behave the same?

No direct effect on RPM shift points, HP, gas mileage, etc. Sprint Booster is a voltage amplifier between the pedal and ECU. Think of it as a foot pressure multiplier. That is all.

I'm playing with the selector switch settings but so far it looks like Green #9 or Red #1 are working best for me. I will leave it on my favorite level of boost and disconnect the selector cable from the Sprint Booster for daily driving soon. I will plug it back in and turn off the Sprint Booster when I take my 4runner in for my warranty oil changes for 2 years. Like other people have said it feels like my 4runner has been "awakened" and this should be the way it comes from the factory. Jason Burtman treated me right with the price and 2 day shipping and was easy to work with as usual. For me the Sprint Booster is worth the cost considering the smile on my face when driving my new 4runner. BTW all members of my family drive 4runners (2008, 2009, 2016, 2020, 2022).

Thank you for the update. It's appreciated and super cool you have that many 4Runners in the family! This item has now become my best selling part.

I have a sprint booster in my 2019 TRD PRO. It's the V3 that I ordered from Burtman. I have a 2022 Pro on order. I'm assuming I can just swap it to my 2022 when it comes in? Nothing has changed in the drivetrain at all, I believe.

As a counter-point, I have a Pedal Commander in my '20 SR5 and like it. Only problem is that I attached it near the driver's (my) right leg and it can be a pain to access while driving. So I mostly preferred to use the app. But then the app started spamming all kinds of lame push notifications about UFC fights and other nonsense - so I deleted the app and basically stopped using the hardware. Maybe time for a switch.

A lot of people don't like their pc for many reasons. I sell both, but removed the pc from our website due to too many problems, and complaints. If someone asks me for one, I explain why I feel the Sprint Booster is a superior product. If you're interested in upgrading to the Sprint Booster, email me at [email protected] with the subject title "PC SUCKS" and I'll do a special discount.

Got mine the other day, set it up in about 5 mins and set it to City 5. Plan on experimenting with it over the next month to fine tune it. Love the fact that you don't have to leave it connected to use it. Just keeping it in the glove box until I decide to change settings.
