Cool Official 5th Gen T4R Off-Road pics

Some have posted in the lifted thread, but I thought it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to our off road adventures. If nobody agrees, well then I guess this is just for these photos from me

Here are a few shots from this week up in Show Low, AZ on some primitive forest service roads and trails off of them. We have had rain for a few hours every night, although it looks to be easy driving, the ground was extremely wet and soggy. The areas with the deep ruts proved to be a pain in the tail due to my tires wanting to grab and follow them, and with no lift yet I didn't have the ground clearance in some areas. No good action shots due to my fiance refusing to get out of the vehicle after finding some fresh bear tracks

And where we have been calling home the past week

Very nice! I was in overgaard that weekend. I would like to ask about what type of tent trailer you have and if there was any issues pulling it up to show low? Thanks

Thanks! I have a 2011 Coleman Santa Fe Cp, and no issues at all. I have pulled the trailer a few thousand miles this year with our 2010 RAV4 Limited, this was the second trip with it behind the 4Runner. Has a GVWR of 3300# so well below allowable weight. The electric trailer brakes are a must in the mountains.

Not really offroad perse, but I decided to climb the dirt and sand hills in front of my in laws place. The fresh and clean 285s and lift were killing me, and I am not going up north until December, so this is as close as I could get LOL

@BrockEverly.... in the 4th picture (first set) ... is she texting?? She should have been driving or up front spotting for ya!

Looks like it was a fun trail though.

LOL ya she is. Way to get away from all that and get back to nature, huh? Drives me crazy that she sits on that damn phone while we are out in places like that. I do wireless sales for a living, I hate cellphones. We spent a week in Cotopaxi, CO camping in July, I didn't stop to set up camp until we had no cell service

Got it dirty!

Just got my 2011 Limited about 10 days ago. Took it to Barnwell Moutain Recreation area in Gilmer, TX. One of the guys working there was giving me advice on trails to try. I still have dealer tags on the back. He said "we don't see too many fresh off the showroom floor here... It's a Toyota right? You'll be fine."

Took the t4r up north this weekend and had a little fun. Nothing crazy, just some snow covered forest service roads out to the Lava River Cave which was pretty cool. Here are some photos. Geolanders did great in the snow, with 8-12" drifts in some places I never really had to put it in 4hi. I drove up the mountain in 4hi just to get over my ten miles this month, but the whole way back I stayed in 2wd and had no issue. Extra ground clearance since the lift was nice on one of the gas line roads we went down that was abnormally soft ground for <30 degrees with rather deep ruts from another driver out playing today.

Father in law at the top of the cavern

And not vehicle related, but my daughter threw her first snowball today. It was, of course, right at Dad. I was taking a photo as she threw it, and as luck would have it I caught it in mid flight.

brock, I know there is a post about this somewhere, but when you added the lift and the 285's did you notice that your MPG's decressed? If so by how much. A lift and 285's are on my "wish list" for my 4Runner. The tricky part is convincing my wife to let me spend the money on it

My avg mpg went from 18.5 to 17.4 after my lift and 285's. Its not a terrible decrease considering just how much more tire I have.

My little off-roading in 2wd testing it out. Tried to get stuck, but these tires have great grip!!

How much did you raise it? Did you still have to extend the fender liner?
