That is weird, when I click on the link I posted, it takes me right to the posts regarding panel removal and handle changeout. Anyways, hope those help with your project.

Hate to resurrect an old thread, but I'm trying to see if someone has photos of just the chrome cover on the door handles layin' around or at least an idea of how its held onto the main handle (3M tape or plastic clips or screws or a combination of those). I've found several threads with photos of the complete handles removed (including sp8ball's how-to on the handles) but nothing on just the chrome cap (p/n 69217-60150-D1, specifically).

I hit it with the buffer and literally melted the damned corner of it, and now I wanna get that piece of sh---errr--- plastic off and replaced, just wanna see if its easy enough to snap off the main handle without pulling the whole thing out of the door. May try to sand and wrap it if its easy enough to pop out, but can't seem to find a way to do so, and I don't wanna damage it any further until I get another one in.

Any luck with this? My chrome is peeling off at an alarming rate and I would love an easy solution too.

Nope, mine's still damaged, although I cleaned up the adhesive where I burnt through the chrome. I tried to put one of my teflon squeegee cards down into it between the handle and the trim piece, but it wouldn't snap out and there's no adhesive behind it (nothing was sticky when I slid the card in between the two pieces) so I'm thinking that its either got two screws or some really hard clips.

I'll have to remove the whole handle to get to it, and the damage isn't bad enough to really be noticed unless you're looking for it, so I think this may be there for a very long time!
