This is a rocker panel, and what can happen pretty easily with stock setup (obviously not a 4runner but you get the idea)
Which is quite expensive to fix
Putting on rock sliders takes away that worry
http://www.shrockworks.com/5th-Gener...-pr-16256.html or http://www.rocky-road.com/toyrockrail.html is a good place to start

Missed that part - My fear of mud comes from getting stuck not so much of damaging that vehicle.

I guess this would be more of a question for the manufacturer of the rock sliders (which I'm still trying to decipher the naming), but will it fit any 4runner? or only TE?
Also, how easy/hard is it to install?

Install is quite easy. They make different ones for the different models

Yea the crossbars came with it and are up there. I'm the 2nd owner so not sure if he had to have the dealership add them or not. I assume they came with the rack.

Shrockworks make a great rock slider/step board but it's made for the Trail Edition only. If you have an SR5 or Limited you'll have to remove your rocker panel so it will fit (Which I'd do anyway to increase the clearance and give it a more aggressive look). As for install, it took Harper ~2 hours if I remember correctly. I'm placing an order for some shortly.

I went up North to an ATV offroad park called Rocky Ridge. It's 750 acres of private land. It's primarily for ATV's but was fun for the 4R and was also a solid camping spot.

I would like to see a pic of someone with a Limited that has the Rock Sliders on.
I'm afraid to post a new for that lol, as I'm sure I'll get one of these because someone else posted it.
