Just did the same mod and is great. I didn't have material to fab new tab so I only connected one screw on each speaker till I get time to fab a tab. Took only 15 minutes to do both speakers. Also I didn't cut out any part on the passenger side as the ducting to the vent was what seemed to be in the way. I just wiggled speaker into place and screwed in and it fit fine. Also mine is 2011 so don't know if it has slightly different ducting etc under the dash. Thanks for the idea and write up Mag 10
