What happened to men? Bunch of metro-sexual pussies driving 4runners. Get Highlanders...

Less the Apple Car play, the 4R already has most all those features in the Limited, and it is quite nice to have. What they need to do is trim up the rest of the line. Owning both a 4th and 5th, Toyota went to town on value engineering many things I wanted out of the lower 5th gen trim levels, even the Pro is sad in comparison.
And just in case you haven't figured it out yet, the 5th gen is the millennial minivan. Most younger people having kids choose this truck as their stroller of choice over the minivan. At least those are my observations.

I think it's all but a guarantee that it'll have some form of hybrid. What that means - I have no idea. My guess is mild hybrid start/stop and possibly electric assist at lower speeds in stop/go traffic.
I REALLY hope it has electric drive option for water crossings without a snorkel. That would offer a huge benefit to me to not need a snorkel, but still have deep water fording ability by closing the intake and running on electric drive for just a few hundred feet max at low-moderate speeds. Not the holy grail of offroad functionality by any means, but it could be very useful.

I'd like to see the Pro become an actual offroad package. Something similar to the Raptor.
Wider track width with mild flared fenders.
Stock 33" tires
Supercharger
Adjustable coilovers

Take a page out of Ford's book and put in a 3.0 turbo for better power and fuel economy.

On the stock stereo deck, two features:
1) The ability to browse by folder on USB attached drives. (Currently only genre, song, artist are available as options. So a misc folder like MudMusic isn't selectable to play. You'd have to put MudMusic on it's own drive, in no folder)
2) Longer filenames. Currently you can only see about 32 characters of a filename as you look at a folder / album on the stock deck. So a filename like "Steve Miller Bands Greatest Hits - Disk 01 - Track 07 - The Joker.mp3" would have no chance of displaying fully as you enjoy the album.

6 speed or higher transmission for better gas mileage. More tire clearance would be nice. Spare tire mount on the rear bumper. Pro models should have steel bumper options? The only things that my 18 model doesn't have that I'd want has already been added to the 2020 models (better radio and push button start). Please keep the current rear window option (must for dogs).

I think there's places they could swap in auto clicker word unscrambler jumble solver aluminum, like the hood and rear hatch, to save weight without sacrificing anything. More high-strength steel in the frame would be good for weight reduction too. Anything to get the MPGs up a bit.

In my humble opinion, I believe the Rav4 Prime is a good indication of what's to come in the next 4runner but, of course, body on frame. I just hope it's sooner rather than later.
