Definitely interested in this as well... That Alpine HU is nice but takes up real estate in front of the vents and not integrating w/ the factory mic is meh.

Ya I totally agree. I think that Alpine Halo looks terrible.
it's a factory OEM head unit, it will absolutely cost more than $1k
the current 5th gen unit, non apple carplay, has a OEM list price of $4,313.96. If you went to your dealership and needed to replace it for the exact same unit you had, no upgrades or anything, it would cost way over $1k.
Are there any dealership parts guys filling this thread?
I was told they can look up parts as soon as VINs are released. I am sure we have all see the pic of the army green 4Runner sitting in port. There must be VINs out by now.
I would also be interested to know if the 2020 head unit can be easily swapped into my 2019. Not for CarPlay (i see no need for CarPlay) but for the bigger screen.

Clearly has never had a car with CarPlay as a rental
Gosh. Y’all serious. Tokyo does not support Apple CarPlay yet. But many aftermarket stereos do: Kenwood, pioneer, etc. the Tokyo look dash kit, head unit, installation, etc: less $750 to whatever you want to spend.
