No. The 2020 4Runner will get Android Auto, Apply Carplay, and TSS. That much has been stated by Toyota. And yes it is still a 5th gen.
2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Opens Path to Family Adventures, Leads Charge for Updates on all TRD Pro Models | Toyota
Although the article mainly talks about the TRD Pro it mentions that all grades of the 4Runner will receive those updates as well.

Some of the information on this forum is absolute crap.
Why are we calling 2019+ 4Runners 6th generation when the same body style and powertrain?
Here is a fun FACT everyone can take to the bank.
2020 model codes include a 8667 (8668 is Limited and 8669 is Limited Nightshade edition) which has a "Venture" title and also has an Overland option.
How do I know this?
My inventory manager was completing BOS (change orders for vehicles being built) and called me asking if I knew about an 8667 or "4Runner Venture"
Feel free to pick this apart but we will see you all and this post in 2020 ;-)

Many users have complained about this misinformation but it looks like the owners/moderators don't care or can't do anything about it.
Yes there should be a 6th gen section to discuss the upcoming 6th generation (still seems to be a few years out) but the 2019 tag has to be removed from this section. Also there is no 2018 tag at all attached to any section.
This is bad for the forum and it's also bad for those newbies that don't have much 4Runner knowledge yet.

Exactly. I wish a moderator would at least acknowledge the issue, whether they can't fix it or choose not to. Their silence is disheartening.

Wasn’t “Venture” a Chevy minivan from the 90s?
The RAV4 has an “Adventure” trim level.
Thanks for sharing; anything else interesting that you’ve found now that 2020 ordering started?
As for this site, given how many people are suckered by click-bait sites for the “6th gen 4Runner,” maybe it’s a way to cash in on those clicks? I agree that it’s dumb, but I’m not the one paying the bills for this site, so who am I to judge?

Toyota wouldn't send us anything via email but would confirm they are working with their Yakima partnership to get a unique roof rack for this 8667, and will most likely feature the TRD gunmetal wheels. I figured it wasn't going to be anything crazy.
What I'm most excited about is the reintroduction of the beautiful 06V7 color, also knows as Army Green!

All I know is if they finally wise up and put leather with cooled seats in the Pro I'll be about $50k poorer.
Until then, I'll keep my money (and my softex-sweaty ass) lol

Venture is not part of nightshade for 2020, it is its own model number. Available in all the SR5 colors.

Other than Army Green for the TRD Pro, any other new colors for 2020?

I think it's kind of amazing that at 4 months out from delivery we still don't have any pictures of the new interior with the revised infotainment featuring carplay and android auto...

They’ve done a pretty good job of keeping them hidden, though from all indications, the only exterior indications of a 2020 appear to be the TSS equipment behind the logo (or the plastic panel on the Pro) and windshield. They could be testing them in plain sight and most people wouldn’t notice.
I’m hoping LED lighting and Blind Spot Monitoring appear, but also know realistically 1) they probably would have mentioned it in the TRD Pro auto show reveal (I mean, 2 additional USB ports made the cut for the press release, so seems like they were reaching for something, anything, to talk about) and 2) no reason why they would add them to the lower trims and not the TRD Pro.

Yeah it just seems strange that if the only real changes are TSS added, and the inclusion of Apple Car Play / Android Auto with a larger screen. It seems strange that they wouldn't have shown the new infotainment... I suppose it might be in order to keep sales strong through the summer if this is a feature they think will make people wait to purchase, but at some point you have to show it. It seems like the first time we will see the interior is when they hit dealers.
