Anyways, I saw a post on FB once that had pictures of a 2019 4Runner and there appears to be rear cabin vents as well as AC controls in the back, just like how the Highlander comes equipped.

Can someone verify this? Do the 2019 4Runners really have rear cabin vents and controls in the back?

Thanks in advance.
I believe the Limited has additional vents for the rear cargo area (3rd row seating). This was the reason I just sold my heavily modified 2017 TRDP - the lack of rear AC. I use my truck for off road fun, and commuting to Tahoe - with my 2 big dogs. Northern CA summer heat can be ridiculous, and after 2 summers, dogs were NOT happy...sold my 4Runner.

Just make sure you want the other bells and whistles that go with the top model.

I really wish the 4runner had more creature comforts that you might find in comparable cross-overs

The 4runner is not a crossover, these are not comparable

You wish the 4Runner had more creature comforts? In my opinion, there is nothing more comfortable than driving down the interstate, looking at a more "modern" vehicle broken down on the side of the highway. :-) Whatever broke that modern vehicle is probably a feature your 4Runner doesn't have. Complexity is the enemy of reliability.

My 6 year old rides in the 3rd row. When we need to cool him down, we crank the air to Maximum Attack, open the back window, and in a few minutes he is cool enough. We then close the rear window, reduce the air speed up front, and the 3rd row area stays cool.

In other words, there are ways around the problem. Improvise! Alternatively, use duct tape to keep 3rd row occupants quiet. (Jokes people, don't take me too seriously!)

Simple answer for some of you. Buy a Highlander and some TRD badges and stickers.

OP, you're probably thinking of the gx460. My buddy had one and it has rear climate, optional rear heated seats and a couple extra vents. Also the 4.6 liter v8.

I ordered my Limited (2019) from the factory without 3rd row seats. You can't fit anyone comfortably back there anyway....and it lightens the vehicle weight.

Man, you'd have to be Stretch Armstrong to do that!

There are USB power ports in the back of my 2020. I honestly can't remember if there are vents. I think the only person to ever sit back there while the vehicle's moving was the salesperson when I took it for a test drive and my dad was in the front passenger seat.

I know you weren't asking me, but I just have to say: No, I don't. That's why I got my 4Runner

I want to drive this thing for decades!

I'm years away from a fun weekend car, but it disappointed me that early rumors of the newer Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ are that there's going to have a more plush interior. Oooooooh... No....... Not what I wanted years down the line. I might just have to buy a used older one.
