I would love to have one, but I sincerely doubt it will happen. I'd probably not buy it just because the wife would never be able to drive it and would refuse to learn. Then, there is the resale issue. I had a really nice RX-8 that I had to part with but when people found out it was a manual interest waned quickly - and that was a sports car! You are for sure going to eat it on the resale value by limiting your buying audience.

call me crazy but i consider being able to drive a manual a potentially life saving skill. you just never know. its really not that hard to teach someone.

RX8s are sports cars (although nothing like a 7), theyre supposed to be manuals. I suspect there was something else that was off putting with your 8, but they are no means a fun car to take care of. they just didnt do anywhere near well as the 7s and the resale value doesnt hold like the 7s (even the FCs, i dont care about the FBs, sorry not sorry, LOL).

I've driven manual transmission vehicles for well over 30 years, and this T4R is like the second AT vehicle I've owned. In certain circles MTs are sought after and since they are getting rare(er), they can maintain decent resale.

Have you seen the price of FJ60s (MT only) lately compared to, say the newer FJ62s (AT only)? A few years ago, an FJ60 in decent condition was a $3-6K sale, I've seen moderate to decent condition FJ60s sell for $10-20+K in the past year.

I sold my FJ60 this year for more than I bought it for after owning it for 20 years, so there is still a demand for MT vehicles.

True, difference is that most people who purchase new are going to be reselling to other people who will likely be daily driving them in traffic to work and kid's school and shopping, and not many people who buy an FJ60/62 will be DDing them. Utility vs novelty market.

That decent resale value is in a very small amount of people.

Itís too bad that only a select few appreciate a stick anymore. Would love to see them bring it back.
