I have so many questions to that photo. But, it is believable (due date).

If that was a model year launch- cool. Less than 24 months until dealer arrival (Sep 2021?). If it’s calendar year launch... meaning M2023... that’s a long time and means 2.5-3 years until dealer arrival. I feel like too many other options will surface between now and then.

I’m thinking it’s calendar year launch. So new 4R in 2022 as a 2023 MY.....likely fall launch like most in the past.

So is it safe to say they'll be putting the 4.0/5-speed auto in the museum? Would be cool to a turbo engine offered.

I expect so. I look forward to a turbo or hybrid model, I just hope they can preserve the rock hard reliability. My 2016 Tacoma with the 3.5 liter was.... less than stellar.

About freaking time! The trucks and SUVs are so long in the tooth and even the interiors looks so dated. I read the Landcruiser will be totally revamped and made smaller/leaner or something like that. It is such a fat pig now. Fingers crossed that they make some real changes.

You're looking forward to a non-diesel turbo 4cyl 4Runner? lol ..you should've been there when the NEW "offroad" hybrid Rav4 joined our T4R event last Fall..and 20mins in was whining like a goat in heat. Why are we even validating this by creating a "6th Gen" tab 5yrs in advance? lol

Turbos can be used for performance and/or efficiency. I'm ALL IN, if they make a 6th gen 4runner with a performance oriented six cylinder turbo engine . (Ala the Ford Raptor, without all the reliability issues that come with the Ford twin turbo engine)

This presentation looks like it was made by the hot front desk chick at any dealer. Pure speculation. She doesn't work at corporate.

And the way they stuck the Sequoia and 4Runner on the end, with only a year, where everything else is more specific. Makes me think they added them more for completeness and they are still figuring it all out.

In 2022 we'll decide whether or not to update or discontinue the Sequoia and 4Runner, with possible redesigns in 4-5 years.
