Trade in/Resale Values
Just curious what offers people are getting. I have a 2020 ORP with 23k miles and am thinking about going back to a truck and probably going to see what offer I can get for it.

Post in the 5th gen section you might get more replies... but Id say high 30s to low to mid 40s for your vehicle.

Low 40’s all day long. I’d ask $45k and be ready to haggle.

I keep getting offers from Camelback in PHX monthly. They have been going down slightly over the last couple of months. Still, about as much as I paid new (not including taxes).

thanks, missed that somehow.
I priced it online at carmax and was offered $44,000 which is really not bad since I paid $41,500 OTD. Didn't take it to the dealership since they have any trucks right now, so going to have to wait.

As a recent purchaser of a 2021 4 runner, while doing my research I was surprised how a 2-3 year old 4runner was priced as much as a new one (if you could find one in the lot)

it was similar back in 2017 when I bought a sr5 prem. Used pricing was maybe a few thousand dollars less than a new one. Now its even worse though, holding out for the next gen 4runner or tundra. The 17 4runner will stay for awhile

I drive my vehicles until the wheels fall off.
Thus the 53 year old pickup, 43 and 41 year old motorcycles.
I anticipate my 2017 4runner outlasting me.

Just got an offer from Carmax for $50,400 for my '19 TRDP with a little over 26k miles. Use their online tool; takes only a couple of mins. to do.

Crazy, right?! We just got a 2022 TRD Offroad (still waiting on delivery, hopefully next week) and it was just a few thousand more than a 2018, with more options. None are in stock. They are getting bought sight unseen before they come off the truck.
Then there's the markup, some dealerships we went to were doing 8k above MSRP. We lucked out on our deal for the times. Can't wait to get it but I've never seen anything like this. Of course, none of us really have to this level.

I just sold my ‘21 TRDORP for 49,500 on Monday. It only had 4,500 miles but damn, they gave me 3k over sticker and about 7k more than I paid for it!
Crazy times we’re living in. I can’t imagine who wants a 4Runner bad enough to pay over sticker for a pre-owned car.

We ALMOST got a used one because there are literally NO new ones available and the wait can be brutal! That's the only reason they are getting away with it. Glad you got a deal!
We lucked out and got a new one though. The dealership said it was the last ORP they were likely getting any time soon because of the chip shortages.
Covid really gave us the huge middle finger. The gift that keeps on giving (coal)

I have to imagine I was one of the last group of folks in 2021 to get one for less than sticker lol. Thanks Costco!
But honestly, I hate how well the 4Runner is selling. It disincentivizes Toyota to develop the 6th gen. My biggest complaint with my 4Runner was its underpowered engine and the 5 speed. I get they are reliable, but they are not enjoyable to drive. I live at altitude with hills/mountains so the effects of both are really pronounced.
Anyway, back to the third gen build
