It's been a while since I reposted the running 4Runner leak info. The new 6th gen 4Runner will be styled similar to the new Tacoma and share the powertrains.
With the lack of any new leaks in months, my personal speculation is, the new 4Runner may be delayed, yet again, by at least six months.
2025 Toyota 6th gen 4Runner (Tacoma influenced)
Reveal: was Q1 2024 - Delayed to Q3 2024 TBD ?
Launch: was Q3 2024 - Delayed to Q1 2025 TBD ?
Engines: 2.4L turbo I-4, i-Force MAX 2.4T I-4 hybrid, alleged PHEV, No TTV6
Rendering: Carscoops 7/31/2023 rendering looks like it could be close to the real thing.
(For any Toyota insiders, suppliers or senior level dealer employees, if you would like to send me a PM with new insights and information, I will repost the information, while keeping the source anonymous.)

I’m hoping the 4Runner news has been quiet intentionally. Get the Taco hype up, get the launch over with, then return to 4Runner “leaks”. I’m betting we see some prototypes now that the taco launch is over. Toyota has no more NA TNGA-F vehicles that need to be in the launch spotlight except the 4Runner.
We did hear a lot about the Land Cruiser 250 leak wise, but Toyota did manage to keep the spy shots to a minimum. A quick google returned none other than the ones Toyota themselves showed around the release, on how they kept it so secret.
I’d be very surprised if the 4Runner got delayed again to Q3 reveal. I wish Toyota didn’t make Global Auto Forecast fix their website lol. Took away my production schedule estimates. I say it was Toyota that made them fix it because those links were posted for years, suddenly I post them to a Toyota forum and poof the website is fixed.

Yes, speaking of leaks past, if you let it be known the source of your leaks, like Carmaker1 did, the leaks get plugged.
>>> Only official, "unofficial" leaks, are officially condoned. (read that twice)
For those of us, who hear things on the grapevine, that is another story.

Yeah I’ve restrained myself from bugging a person I know that is at Toyota in Michigan and has worked on TNGA-F vehicles, don’t want to get them in trouble. Would be nice to have a conversation with them though lol

Starting to think the 6th gen 4Runner will be the same with the off-road and below trims only getting the 2.4 turbo and no hybrid. I had been hoping for a 6th gen 4R hybrid.

Just join the dark side and get a Pro then ;).
Pro will be way more special than it has been if it's one of the only hybrid powertrain configurations to be honest...

I don't see it limited to the Pro, CAFE Standards are for corporate average, I would think they want to maximize sales of hybrids to keep the wolf's at bay.

If it is delayed another 6 months minimum, they might as well make the 2025 a 5th gen and release the 6th gen for MY26.

True, but as a 2025, it would follow the same timeline the 2024 LC250 followed this year, just in the following year.

Not sure I follow you. Is the LC250 starting production at the end of December? I thought that was starting in the Spring?
The 2024 5th gen was originally scheduled to run through the end of June '24. A 6+ month delay would have it run through the end of December 2024.
That would somewhat fit the timeline for the new GX550, if that's what you meant...

There's at least some suggestion from Toyota now that the LC250 may not actually be available until Q3 2024. At that point it should be a MY2025. I know of Toyota manufacture dates as early as March having the following model year.
Hyundai once sold January production vehicles as the following model year. That's the most extreme I know of.
