Come on, spill it, any half founded rumor at this point is better than all the silence.

Spy shot.
Kidding, it's a Jimny playing dress up. And it's 💯!! I hope the new Land Cruiser is half as awesome as this little guy.

I'll stay with my current model. Don't want to be a beta tester in the places I take my 4Runner.

Well look what Toyota cooked up, it seems they have started the new Land Cruiser teaser campaign. This is the 2000 Retro Land Cruiser design concept, I've never seen this pic before, for you FJ people, is this what inspired the FJ Cruiser?

Here's hoping the new upcoming 2024/25 Land Cruiser is half as cool as this, I have it on good authority that the LC launch has been delayed from December 2023 to late March/early April 2024, oh well, delays are to be expected in any development program.

If the new Land Cruiser is anything like this, it would be an instant buy. I know a lot of people are clamoring for removable doors and roofs but for me the sacrifice in NVH is not worth the benefit.
A Land Cruiser with good approach and departure angles, front and rear lockers, and the ability to size up to 35s with minimal modifications would all huge selling points and would differentiate itself from other BoF Toyotas. Without being hit with the ugly stick that is Lexus.

Before you get too excited - remember that that concept turned into this product:
It really doesn't need to be an either/or between removeable top and not. Many cars have had both options. But also it's exceedingly unlikely IMO that a new model will have a removeable top. I don't think Toyota has sold a removeable top SUV anywhere in the world since Bill Clinton was in office. I don't think there have been any convertible toyota models in any category since the Avalon coupe.

I think the current Lexus LC500 Convertible is the only convertible Toyota offers today.

This was the info that I was going to share as well.
Sorry for the delay. Crazy storm came through my neighborhood and I didn't have power for a week.

Bummer. I wonder if this will delay the 4Runner as well? Would Toyota want to launch both of them at roughly the same time?

Yes, the 2025 4Runner has moved out again, not unexpected for new development.
The Reveal should be in the spring 2024 time frame.
Start of production should be in the summer of 2024 time frame.
First delivers launch should be in the fall of 2024 time frame.

The whole offroad/overland fad will be done by the time they actually release these things. Then Toyota Japan will decide it was a bad idea to develop them when in actuality they screwed it up with all these delays.
Today I saw a Mitsubishi crossover with puddle lights and a canopy that you wouldn't even be able to stand underneath. He still probably gets offroad more than I do. LOL
Before people jump on me, I know people will still go offroading and its not a fad to many of you, but we should all realize that this current boon isn't going to last forever.

If I'm not mistaken, this 6th gen timeline that you mention above has been established for a while now and hasn't been moved because of the Land Cruiser being delayed.
Originally, yes, the 6th gen was thought to come out in early 2024 so its timeline has moved but not because of the Land Cruiser.......as far as I'm aware.
