I got sent this the other day from a friend. Looks like the new GX leaked ahead of time. I'm not usually a sucker for the 1000 renderings that always land, but this looks like it.

Looks fake to me. The rear quarter details look completely out of wack compared to the official teaser image on the previous page.

Plus the side door mirrors don't match the newest teaser if I am not mistaken.

What I noticed in the new Tacoma and Tundra is that in the hybrid engine models they hide the battery under the rear seats, taking up the storage space that was there on the non-hybrid models.

That means there's a good chance in the 4runner hybrid models the rear seats won't fold flat? Just like the Sequoia where they had to do some weird multi-level trunk space to compromise for the battery.

That looks like a bummer as they seemingly don't have a solution yet as a hybrid 4runner is the most appealing type to me.

That is my main worry with the future hybrid 4Runner. If Toyota can't figure out a way to more smartly package the battery in an SUV setup, I'd be willing to step down to turbo-4 non-hybrid (assuming the 4Runner doesn't copy the hybrid only approach).

Seriously, what idiot at Toyota thought that this is acceptable? The fact that you can't even remove the 3rd row at all is laughable.

Yea, you guys may be right. The whole truck looks boxier in the other teaser pic, including the mirrors. Seems like just a decent photoshop of a current GX460 with the new headlights and some tweaks.

You know; I hadn't even thought about this, but it could be a deal killer for me also considering I find the back of the Seqouia to be an absolute packaging mess. If that carries over to the 4Runner and GX; ugh. Splurging on a Defender is looking more and more like a realistic option.

If that is what it looks like, then how the hell is this supposed to be a competitor with the Defender?
This just looks like an iteration on the current GX. Nothing revolutionary and certainly nothing that says "luxury offroader."

If this is anything remotely nearly what it looks like, then all the rumors we've heard were bs.

We will found out in a few weeks. Our resident expert @Carmaker1 has said that the GX is speculated to be available in two flavors

"2024 GX 550 is V35A-FTS non-hybrid in a different tune against LX 600 at 409 hp; 479 lb-ft. Already trademarked since September 2021 at USPTO."

"GX 550h = 2.4T I4 T24A-FTS, aka known as i-Force Max I4 at Toyota (brand) on 2024 Tacoma. It's already trademarked in Asia."

Assuming this becomes true, customers will have the option to have a non-hybrid car with non-compromised cargo space.

I would say that is definitely not the new GX. That's current GX photoshopped to match the first teaser pic. Nothing matches the new pics from today. Rectangular mirror. Low belt line with a wide hip step out below and wide body fenders. New GX also shows a step up in belt line for the rear quarter windows and a vertical D pillar.

Amen, I could kill BS artists like Kolesa. They do quality work, but the creativity and detailing is lazy.

This looks like a refresh of the 2025 LX instead and they clearly WEREN'T paying attention to the GX teaser released and more importantly, key details many of us have been giving.

The extremely flat rear end, the unique fender flares that go in-out like G Wagen and Defender. The militarized, BOXY profile! Kolesa were just too impatient!

I argued with someone about this on a Lexus forum, where I am hated and in another spot, with numbskulls.

Just looking at the official images, I wrote it off quickly. Stupid clickbait entities like Motor1 (who I once respected), pushed this stupid rendering as credible. The author there, Angel Sergeev, didn't even vet the credibility of the image.

Not to mention a few other websites. Folks got to be careful, because on the flip side a lot of people ignorantly dismissed the credible leaked images of the real Tacoma as FAKE BRO, yet some are being too quick to trust some Russian clickbait farm who didn't put effort into it.

It's all about the clicks to them, watch out. Just compare anything like this going forward to any existing evidence.

I earnestly just want everyone on the same page as me or anyone else who has info to share. I make mistakes, but I certainly saw right through Kolesa's weak rendering, in not seeing a G Wagen competitor of any sort.

I think Texas Fun Runner knows some things too about these vehicles and a few of you as well.

GX does have the hybrid T24A work order, according to our source involved with technical aspects of the 4Runner. I don't trust him on certain info, but technical stuff he knows damn well.

GX 550 is said to be V6 by almost everyone that has seen the vehicle and given some details. He claims none of his work orders relate to the V35A-FTS, but it doesn't mean it won't be offered.

His commodity probably only deals with the GX 550h only.

Voice to text isn't working right now, so I'll keep it short.

2025 4Runner is definitely close to CB rendering. Not gonna say how, but I'll address it in a roundabout way.

Angular lines are what you need.

The C-Pillar is now more upright to allow ease of entry for rear passenger. D-Pillar is unfortunately similar the Sequoia. I am sorry about that. Not getting answers on the rear lift gate window. It doesn't look good.

No manual transmission, sorry. He said it's absolutely automatic only.

Hasn't seen any examples with the Tacoma TRD PRO seats.

The diffs on 4Runner are different on hybrid and non-hybrids.

Headlight design is virtually identical to the Tacoma, but differs in curvature a bit.

Another great, very firsthand source, can see these posts of mine and I don't want to alienate them by violating confidence. They help me understand some things that I wouldn't, only depending on that other person outside of Toyota and thank them greatly for new insight they have provided.

You'll be very happy to see something like the new GX in Toyota showrooms too, true to its heritage and at a much lower price than in 2021. Don't worry about today's J150, you're getting something much cooler than that and some standard fare versions of the successor being sold internationally.

If you think the new Tacoma is cool, this is even better. Tacoma probably formed the foundation for some new tech, to share costs.

Bear in mind that I have financial interests with others, but I am objective and happy enough to discuss this as an enthusiast and see there is room for everyone to be in this segment and to make Jeep run scared a little bit more.

I wanted to respond to a lot of posts with answers, but I cannot keep up at all. It would be too unreadable.

Thanks as always.

Thanks, you have me excited. Any idea when it will be revealed and then when will it hit showrooms? You probably would be guessing at the price.

I think the design is rather ugly, IMHO.

Yea Motor1 I said the Mirai was basically the cancelled next gen Lexus GS and that wasn't very popular.

Lexus is doing the launch for both the GX and TX on the same day 6/8. Toy/Lex are certainly being aggressive this year.
