How much would you be willing to pay for a 6th Gen???

Just saw the MASSIVE price increases on the new Tundra vs the previous gen. SR5 crew cab priced at $62K with options. Limited, Platinum and 1794 all pushing $70k with options. Haven't seen a TRD Pro priced out yet but I imagine it will be North of $70K! These prices were from a YouTube video from a dealer that showed the spec sheets of Tundras being built. I fully expect the same type of price increase on the 6th gen 4Runner as inflation continues to spiral out of control with this new administration. I paid $44,800 for my 2019 TRD Pro. I'm guessing I'll have to pay $70K for a 6th gen PRO. Are you guys willing to pay that kind of money?? Something has to give at some point. Who is buying all these $70k-$100k vehicles???? The new 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4x starts at $75K!!!

I would pay $0 for one. But that's just how I am. My 17 will outlast me.
Not bashing any new vehicles, I just don't buy, flip, trade in, for the latest thing.
As it is, my 17 has so many unnecessary bells and whistles. Almost a distraction to driving.
"My" other vehicles are 40-50 years old and still functioning as designed. The 4runner is my "luxury" ride.

I wouldn't pay any more for a 4runner than any other midsize non luxury SUV and they all top out around 55 except the JGC which is an absolute bonkers at around 70k maxed out.
And, if I were to buy a 4Runner at 55k it would have to be way, way, way nicer all around than the one I have now and quite frankly I don't think Toyota can do that. For one, Toyota sound insulation is about as bad as it gets and Lexus isn't much better.

My main complaint about my '16 is the road/wind noise, and I have a stock Limited. I don't remember it being that bad on my '11 Limited.

I'm thinking about switching it up for a GX as the ones I have test drove before were much more quiet.

I have friends with a GX. One has normal road tires, the other ATs.
The GX with the ATs is marginally better than my 4Runner with ATs.
The one with road tires doesn't sound anywhere near as quiet as an X5 or GLE.

I don't think BOF vs Unibody should have any influence on how quiet a car is made to be.

My wife's RAV4 hybrid is very poorly insulated. It's just a Toyota thing, I believe.

Chevrolet is no slouch at building road noise into their vehicles either.

I guess this is the modern version of my grandfather’s rather familiar speech: “When I was young, bread only cost 5 cents a loaf!”

I remember shopping for my first 4Runner and $29k for a new one was way out of reach, so I was shopping used ones (that admittedly, weren’t that much cheaper).

By the time the next gen is out, $45k SR5 up to $65k for a top-end trim (Limited? Platinum?) won’t be out of the question. Tack on a $1,500+ destination charge on top of that.

Probably a $5000 jump in price. I'm going to guess production moves to Mexico and it shares the same engine and transmission as the Tacoma. Makes more sense to build it there, Lexus is moving production back to Japan. Sequoia and Tundra sharing a facility in Texas... 2023 will probably be the most collectible 4R since '89. 2024 MY not so much.

Which vehicle are you referring to? GX and LX are already made in Japan.

Well my 19 4Runner keeps going up in value, so it may be an even trade by the time the 6th gen comes.

Personally I wouldn't buy a 4Runner passed 2019 model year.

When a used, but in great shape 4x4 model hits $22 to $26,000.
SR5 4 x 4 currently bought at 50,000 miles, now around 140,000 easy miles.
Next time I'll get third row and the faux leather so a trim line or 2 up.
This is all assuming it's a great product, and as reliable as it is now.

I sold my f250 a few weeks ago. Was planning to buy the new tundra. I want the hybrid. I'm having second thoughts. The price bump is pretty damn big. The RAV4 hybrid is $800 more. I'd bet the tundra hybrid is a $5k option. Even the basic packages on the tundra went way up. So a well equipped tundra hybrid will go $80-90k. Capstone model will probably be north of $100k. Nope. It's not good enough. No generator option. No PHEV. All of that is fine with me. But not at that price. It needed to be better. The outgoing model maxed out about $55k.

I think I'll just wait. I think a market crash is coming soon when interest rates jump to match inflation. Prices will come down when people stop buying.

Next 4runner will probably get a similar 20-25% price bump. So I'd guess it'll start mid 40s and top out about $60k and if that's right sales will likely decline precipitously.

Did Toyota learn nothing from the land cruiser? Or maybe that's the end game? Getting out of the BOF market in North America.

Where are you getting those prices from? Everything I've seen hasn't been that high. Here is one quote about the SR5 price. Are there $17k worth of options you can add on?

"For example, a 2022 Tundra SR5 CrewMax 4x4 with 5.5-foot bed (model code 8361) has a factory MSRP of $45,805. In 2021, this same Toyota Tundra configuration started at $41,370."
