While it wasn't the newest year cherokee, my sister had issues with it absolutely guzzling oil. She took it to the shop and they basically said, "tuff stuff".. She sold it not long after and never looked back. I wont ever get one because I hear nothing good about them

I only drove a Gladiator once, and I hated the wobbly, random steering. That's the extent of my experience with Jeeps. Why do they keep their value so well, given all these problems? That's what I don't understand.

I wouldn't buy the new model of any car, especially a Jeep. Lease it and see how it goes.

Generally a bad idea to buy a fiat. Cool interior designs on some models but poor build quality, lousy reliability and horrible resale vale for anything but the rarest high performance stuff….

The reliability of the 4R has been amazing. I did own a Dodge prior to this which had nothing but issues which concerns me about the Jeep.

That being said, after 10 years my Dodge frame still looked factory where my 4R frame rotted out and had to have significant repairs completed.

So, both have had some issue or another.

I did just see the FB post by Toyota with a teaser image of a 'new' SUV. So it is either the 4R or Sequoia, time will tell.

I would wait on the next 4Runner. Buyers remorse would really suck if you bought the GC today and they announce a great 4Runner next month.

I'm at least waiting till the announcement (whenever it comes) to decide if we upgrade to a 2022 TRDORP, a GX, or a 6th gen.

Remember, there is a reason 4Runners hold their value so well.

I saw the new Sequoia and was thinking that was my next vehicle....until I saw the cargo area. What was Toyota thinking?! At first reviewers were positive, now I see the negativity showing about it. Some even suggesting others buy up the '22's for the cargo room alone.

Who knows what the new 4R will look like. If they butchered the Sequoia that much in the rear what about the 4R? It is so sad because they nailed the other 99%.

I drove the JGC And it felt Heavy to me like an oversized car. It was comfortable but not as agile. Plus Jeep and FCA cannot guarantee the Uconnect service outside of 5 years That was a no brainer.when your head unit turns to a brick its no fun anymore.

My 4R's stereo displayed dimmed today, like it would with your lights on, I adjusted the dial but it flickered once but that was it. After a bit I gave the head unit a medium 'smack' with the palm of my hand. The unit 're-booted' and showed 4Runner and went back to being bright. This vehicle is slowly starting to fail/fade. I just don't want more things to fail beofre tradding it in.

I really wish there was SOME kinda of response/answer from Toyota on if '23 weill be a new generation or not.

I really wich Toyota would give cargo spec on the new Sequioa with the horendous cargo shelf/3rd row and that is/was perfect until seeing that.

At this rate I am very close to pulling the trigger on the Cherokkee L as my local dealer has the exact one I want in transit.

I can't imagine spending 50k+ on a 'Jeep', but I am not spending that money on a 4Runner that has not really been updated in 12 years either. Ugh, not easy to figure out.

I have a 2002 Lexus RX with 322k on it still going strong and I just traded my 2019 4Runner in a 2022.

I also have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with 200k, constant engine lights, power option issues, new rockers and lifters, multiple oil filter housings. Most of this in the last 20k. If you get a Jeep, lease it. Loved it until about 180k. I'm going to trade it in on a Toyota.

I would buy the 2022 4Runner, no question.

I'm still trying my best to hold out and most likely will now that is spring/summer. However hearing that Toyota is pausing production does not make me too confident in any timely releases.

I spoke to a couple of dealerships about the '23 Sequoia and they all echoed the same thing, that they doubt they will see one until the late fall/early winter at the earliest and most likely next spring. I was told they have not even started production on them yet, from what their systems says.

They released a new Sequoia that is barely going to be on track for the '23 release. They have not even hinted about a refresh to the 4Runner so at this rate I would be shocked if one appears for the '23 MY.

As much as I don't want a Jeep with issues I also know my 4Runner at 135k has items that will need to be repaired soon as well and I would rather exit the vehicle before those are needed.

I have a feeling I will make my final decision in the late summer and plan to purchase a '23 MY of something, whether it be the Cherokee L, 4Runner, Sequoia.
