After the introduction of the land cruiser, just recently, i'm not as confident anymore on a 6th gen 4runner.
It's only a little bit more in $ than the 4runner, off road focus, not much bigger than the 4runner.
Land cruiser used to be the bigger truck, now sequioa has taken that spot. Is there really a need for 3 SUV's in their lineup? Most of the die hards will say yes, but will the general average non off road buyer think the same?
Time will tell...

Welcome to the new posters who are predicting the end of the 4Runner. It has been confirmed by Toyota insiders that the 6th gen 2025 4Runner will be revealed during the first quarter of 2024.
We have been discussing this for two years with leaks and insights from Toyota and industry insiders. To learn more, start here at this post where I have a running summary of the latest information.
The main thread is here, Toyota has delayed the release by two years so the thread title is out of date but it still is an active thread with the latest information.
Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen
PLEASE, EVERYONE, WE DON'T NEED A SECOND SPECULATION THREAD.

Yeah is there a way we can have the mods lock this one too to continue to push people to the 90+ page thread?

No offense but that thread is a meandering disaster covering every conceivable topic. That’s the thread that should be locked.
Am I wrong that there is NO official statement from Toyota on a 6th gen? All I see is rumors and hearsay from “insiders”. Those are just pipe dreams into corporate says something.
And I’m not “predicting” anything. I’m just saying I believe there is a 50/50 chance that we don’t see a 6th gen.

That meandering disaster has been a fun conversation though. Sorry that it is not up to your high standards ;).
As for your request.
However, given the Land Cruiser's new two-row, five-passenger arrangement, it begs the question: "What will happen with the 4Runner?" Toyota says not to worry. The 4Runner is a U.S.-based model that attracts a younger customer base, while the Land Cruiser is a global model that was designed for a more mature audience. Sounds to us like a new body-on-frame version of the 4Runner is in the offing in the not too distant future.

So… a vague, unsourced, assurance in a motor trend article about the Land Cruiser is what we are basing our hopes on? But nothing specific from toyota about a 6th gen at all. It could just as easily mean that the 5th gen is here to stay for 5 more years.
I’m just saying we are reading a whole heck of a lot of things that we WANT to be true into what amounts to nothing definitive whatsoever from Toyota.

I agree. That other thread is full of nonsense. When I see a 6th Gen 4Runner I’ll believe there is a 6th Gen 4 Runner. I drive by Toyota US head quarters all of the time and I have not seen a single mule that could be a 6th gen.

agree on this.
What if Toyota downgrades the 4Runner the way they downgraded the land cruiser? Instead of bringing the LC300, they brought the Prado with a starting that's just a wee bit above the current price of the 4Runner.
There's a big chance they will bring in the fortooner with it's sway-away rear suspension

There are bots (AI artificial intelligence) on some other forums I visit now. The “Speculation” thread, amongst other threads here, smells likes it’s full of posts from them. Some of the “technical” crap seems to be way over researched for a human to do.

You won't see a mule in the US as it's going to be made in Japan...assuming you are driving by the Toyota US headquarters.

if it's going to be the fortooner, then it will be from Thailand, not Japan

Have not seen one concrete thing about a 6th 4Runner being developed.
Plenty of senseless yammering from "social media influencers".
Probably going to wait until the election before they get moving to see if interest rates come down on housing so people can take out loans on home value increases.
Or maybe never and just force everybody who wants one to buy a decontented Sequoia.
