I pretty consistently get 38-40mpg when I have the company rav4. I pull 35-37 in the company Sienna. I don’t think 33-34 is out of the question on a GH.

Do you have a higher mix of highway miles? We're mostly city.

And we may have a heavier foot.

Just throwing it out there, but doesn't a naturally aspirated engine lose a non-trivial amount of power (something like 2 to 3 percent) for each 1000 feet above sea level?

This would suggest a NA vehicle being driven in the Denver area would probably be down on power by at least 10 to 15%. That could easily explain a loss of 5 to 10 percent gas mileage.

That’s freeway at ~1000ft elevation (rolling hills through WV, KY, TN). I drive the speed limit and use radar cruise control.

False. It was not all around the country, and it wasn't something wrong with Tesla's. There were other types of EV's involved. Chicago had a charging station issue that left 2 or 3 dozen cars unable to charge. News outlets blew it out of proportion...as usual.

I own a model Y in Minnesota. While it loses some range in the cold, the cold otherwise doesn't hurt it at all. In fact it handles the snow impressively well. I actually prefer to drive in the winter over my T4R because of how fast it heats up.

If you watch videos on the Tundra hybrid you'll actually see the state of charge increase and decrease as the batteries get charged under steady state towing and then release that energy when more power is required.
