Mustache Delete + Fender Flare Delete
What do you guys think?
Do we have a win after deleting the Mustache?

For some reason, the image is being condensed and looks weird. If you want to see the full res just right-click and open in new tab.

Sr5
Well one thing we haven't seen yet, to the best of my knowledge, is what the new SR5 looks like. In my dreams, it's much more understated than the tricked-out trims we've seen so far. It could come with the flares and extra paint gone from the get-go.

Shaving it helps... but it still looks like a station wagon. Needs to be taller and shorter.

Yeah, would be simple to just wrap that center piece as well. Similar to just wrapping the silver valance on SR5s. Either that or someone could make a TRD PRO style ABS cover that caps directly over the top of it. I am really surprised Toyota didn't add an option for fog lights in that huge empty area. Maybe we will see some differences in the SR5s and TRD Off-roads when they hit the web. Who knows. Regardless, this look is growing on me after staring at it for the last week.

Agree - significant improvement, and would look great with a winch bumper as well

Since I don't off road my TRD Off Road I personally like the mustache on the front, just gives it a tougher look, even if it just plastic. Since our other vehicles are Lexus and they don't have the mustache look, I can probably go with either design on the 4 Runner and not let it be a deal breaker.

I don't hate the horizontal part of the mustache. It's the vertical part that kills it for me. But I guess you can't have one w/o the other. Will be curious what aftermarket options become available.

You've basically cut out the flare and the metal behind the flare. So this isn't something that could be done in the aftermarket or likely even possible at all given how the rear door mates to the chassis and makes up part of the rear fender.
For the bumper... why not just borrow from the Tacoma? It will all very likely bolt directly on. The Corolla hatchback (japan built) and sedan (US built) guys do this all the time. The hard bits are all the same; just swap plastics.
