Possible 2025 4 Runner Delay

I see that Toyota announced that several new models, including the 4 Runner could and will be delayed due to parts shortages. Toyota production and sales are so high at this time, that they just don't have the means to keep up their production lines.

The excuse makes no sense as they aren't having issues with the other models that use the same toaster components.

Ha, I guess we'll know for sure when we find there's a shortage of toasters...

I heard the 4Runner COULD be delayed as much as JAN-FEB launch instead of this coming fall (OCT-NOV).

Has anyone heard from a source other than dealers (who are trying to sell the last of the ‘24s) and the one Bloomberg article that there is a delay? It seems odd that Bloomberg is the only news source to receive this news, and no other source has reported on it in the last month.

Looks like my dealer here in Ft. Worth, Texas is down to the last 2024 models, he has only three SR5 in stock and none show up on the website as listed, "In Transit" which he usually post on the website. This still doesn't mean that the 2025's are on there way, or at least anytime soon. The plant in Japan that builds the 4 Runner also builds the Land Cruiser and the Lexus GX models, so no need to be in a hurry to get production on the 4 Runner as they can't keep up production on the other models being produced at this time. It's going to be interesting to see how sales go for the 4 Runner, sure they will sell at first as there are always those who have to have one, but say 6 months to a year how will they be selling. Will demand be high, or will the Land Cruiser take some sales, how many will switch to Lexus, something to think about.

Two dealers here in Denver have told me that 2025s should be arriving in February. I put a deposit down at one of the dealers to reserve a spot in line. I'm number 42.

You sir have more balls than Santa Claus lol New generation new engine new transmission new running gear new ECM new BCM
I'm going to give it two maybe three years before I entertain any of that. Especially after the Toyota truck line is having so much problems right off the bat with their new generation

5th gen production ended in August. What you see is what you got at this point. I did an inventory search today on Toyota.com and it looks like there are only 26 unsold 4R's within 500 miles of me..... and some of those, maybe many of those, have deposits on them.

It should be an interesting experiment. I have a 2014 SR5, which I intend to keep for my teenage son who needs a vehicle urgently. Before the 2014 SR5, I had a 1999 SR5.

And a key difference to the trucks is that the 6th Gen 4Runner is built in Japan.

I’ve seen a few ‘25’s driving around in Illinois. Think on some level they are out.

You're so afraid of turbochargers that you consider "buying a new upcoming Toyota 4Runner" a move of massive balls???

Those 2.4L's and 8-speeds and computers are having damned near zero problems in the Tacoma so far. They already did the first year guinea pig thing for us. Something like 20 transmissions failed off 100,000 sold, which some internetgoers chose to excessively fret about.

This corporate 2.4L is overbuilt (a wise move), and they know how to build reliable truck transmissions. I wouldn't be worried.
