Is there a timer for how long the engine will stay on when using this for remote start?

Thanks

Also curious as to whether the remote start will stop trying to start the vehicle after a certain number of attempts, to prevent killing my battery?

Our old Ford didn't have that function... Which is one of a myriad of reasons why it's our old Ford...

The run time on the remote start is set for 20 minutes. Also should it fail to start on the 1st attempt for any reason, it will only try 2 more times and then stop.

Does this plug and play system retain all the smart key functions that comes with the push start?

Took mine about 5 days to show up in the mail and I should have it installed by end of day Friday 11/16. G key version. Will report back then.

On another note does anyone know if a '15 sr5 has a hoodpin? I know there is a way to test for one but just curious if anyone who has installed one already had to cut the jumper loop.

Thanks

Hood pin

Turn your ignition on then open the hood. If there is a pin then you will get a warning light on the dash. My 2018 SR5 does not have it. They said you do not have to hook up the gray wire for the system to work. It is just a safety precaution to stop the engine from starting by accident while in the engine compartment.

My install was on track for 30 minutes but I ended up with a bad module. I was able to call and talk to their technician immediately, he back tracked me through the install and tried to troubleshoot my issues but decided my module was bad. The new module is already in the mail. The customer service is excellent and canít wait to get the new one.

There is a hoodpin switch option that is completely optional that isnít in the product description. I guess some 4runners have this stock, others donít. Just kills the engine if the hood is opened.

Iíll post again once I do the install again.

Update on Mine: Install time ~45 mins. Product works great. Challenging install but overall worth the time.

Issues I had with install,
-Instructions and pictures were all but useless. I would recommend searching YouTube for the 12v Solutions video on how to install their kit.
-A specific instruction on routing cables and where to mount the main unit would go a long way. I Spent probably 20 mins under my dash expirementing until I ended up mounting mine onto a support column under the dash with zip ties.

Overall no major issues but shipping time and install instructions could be improved imo. Happy with the product.

Works great

Just installed on my 2018 4ruuner this weekend. Easy to do; took me less than an hour. Started to buy the 12voltsystems unit, but purchased because it is truly Plug & Play. The lower cost also made me happy.

5th Gen Remote Start Options

My replacement unit arrived today. Took about 15 minutes to install and it works!
