Addicted Offroad's 3rd gen 4runner rear bumper

Addicted Offroad is proud to release our new rear bumper for 3rd gen 4runners. This bumper is a bolt on design. No welding required of any kind.

The frame mounting brackets are .250 wall press bent. The bumper will slide onto your frame and wrap around it, and will mount to where your original stock tow hitch originally mounted. We will include mounting hardware with your new bumper. This bumper gives 8" of clearance over stock!

The bumper will have a tow hitch included, but we will not be able to "rate" the bumper for towing. However, I can tell you that the bumper is likely stronger than the factory hitch is anyway.

You can order by calling me directly at 970-420-4198 or hitting the website.

Here are pics:

Pics of the actual production bumper

Looking great Scotty,

This is the bumper that I have been eyeing for a while. Now that I finally have a 3rd gen, I'm looking more and more at it. Is anyone else but your old 4runner running one? Im curious to see a few more pictures on different rigs.

Couple questions for you,

Is there a reason no D-ring mounts were added? Can there be a couple added in line with the frame rails?

Thinking of towing, is there a way you could make the hitch about 2" longer on the backside of the bumper (Spare tire side) and add a couple diagonal supports from the hitch to the frame mounts? Seeing as the spare tire won't fit underneath anyways, there shouldn't be anything in the way. Or possibly make this an option for some who plan to tow a lot. Thinking if someone were to use a hitch mounted D-ring, Side pulls would cause less strain having that extra rear frame support as well.

I think those are the only two concerns I would have.

Loving it though and the 8" of extra clearance is AWESOME.

As far as pricing, how long will this $529 pricing be valid? I loved your front bumper on my 88. This is definitely an upgrade I want before the end of the year. Any chance for a package deal for both a front and rear? I already have the sliders. You can PM me if you want with that info.

Thanks,

D-ring mounts cannot be added. Besides you have the hitch anyway, so if you have a receiver shackle you'll be good to go.

The stock spare WILL FIT with this bumper in the stock location. We have tested it, and it does in fact fit easily.

The hitch is plenty strong as is. You should not have any issues what-so-ever in recovery.

ok. I already have a hitch receiver shackle so i'm good there.

Also, if we were to order in the next month, we still would not receive the bumper till the end of the year if not January correct? Is full payment due up front at the time of purchase or will there be a partial payment then the remaining balance at time of shipment?

Also my comment about the spare was because I have 33's and I know there is not room under there for my full size spare.

Let me know as I would really like to get something going with the front and rear soon.

Thanks,

No, we would just need assembly time. Last year is when these came out. We have jigs in place already and have sold numerous rears already. Turn time would be around two weeks.

A 33" spare won't fit regardless of my bumper or a stock one. It will interfere with the panhard bar on the suspension before it hits my bumper. Anything bigger than a 265/75/16 will rub on the panhard. No chance a 285 will fit with out hitting the panhard.

Oh absolutely with the 33. I ran into the same problem on my 06. I completely understand that.

Thats great to know about only the 2 week lead time. I was a little worried when I saw the January lead time.

I plan to run a rear tire carrier anyways that I will be building once I have a good base to work off of (your bumper). I'm eventually going to be heading down the same path as your black 3rd gen that you built. I have a full width F350 HP D60 and 14B combo along with 38x14.5x16's waiting.

Do you see any concern with the strength of the bumper sides mounting a double sheer tire carrier off of them? The tubing is .120 wall correct? I plan to build up the sides and have the mounts above and below the taillight for support.

Do you have any pictures of how it looks with the hatch open? Do you have a filler plate that would fill the gap?

Yes, there is a filler plate. I will see if I can find some pics with the hatch open though.

Edit: Just found some more of the actual production bumper. There is one with the filler plate. It was just laid in there(not welded yet) when the pic was taken

I tried calling earlier today. I had some questions about the front bumper as well. Give me a call when you get a chance.

Absolutely Scotty. Now to get some cash together. Would it be possible to pay for the bumpers first. then when it comes time to ship a couple weeks later pay the shipping total?

Put my order in online today for the rear. (Front will be ordered next Friday on payday)

What is the expected lead time at this point for the rear to ship? I know you said the shop has been pretty busy this week.

Thanks,
