05 Jetta headlights keep burning out.

I have replaced the driver headlight twice and it keeps burning out within days of each change, what gives?

I always clean the bulb with alcohol to get fingerprints off from installation, the plug is pretty straight forward so you can't mess that up, and the bulb doesn't burst, the filament just goes out. Any ideas?? Any idea what I should be looking for when I chech the wires with my meter?? thanks!

I'd be looking at the ground wire first. Possible corrosion or poor contact.

Maybe check for over voltage at the plug as well.

Just the driver's side?

I fixed all the issues with my '07 VW GTI with one simple thing. I sold it.
