Again, you talk that minivans suck in dependability and reliability, esp. where tranny are involved. Right? I know that Honda sucks in that department. No news there. You have NOT told me anything that I (and most folks here) already know.
My point is that NOT all minivan trannies are bad...and your generalization that they all must be bad because they are heavy is UNFOUNDED...because you simply have not provided any source of data. Of course, a pie chart would be nice...but how about some repair data from anywhere?
I am a rocket scientist who also is a brain surgeon and does auto repair on the side. Do you believe me? This is the net dude. I don't give a rats ass who you claim to be. I don't. Show me proof (any inkling of such would be nice) to back up your claims and I will believe you. If you can't, then your words are worthless IMHO. No offense. But this is the internet.

Earlier, you said that you DO have proof...but was waiting for me to show you mine. (Of course, mechanic or not, you did not realize that the burden of proof is actually on you because you are the one that is making the claims!) Well, where is your proof that you claim to have earlier?????? Simple. You claim to have some...now, you back off and hide. Why?
As for the new 6-speed from Honda/Acura...you're right...no one knows since it is too new. However, I hope that it will be good since it will be going into Acura's top end vehicles, such as RLX, new MDX, etc.. And yeah, those vehicles are not lightweights.
AND going with your earlier logic...was Honda tranny bad because of weight?? NO. It was a bad design that Honda did not correct. So, there were issues in lightweight Accords to heavyweights such as MDXs, and Odys. Your "theory" does not hold water. Mechanic or not, your assumption is wrong that weight is the cause of the tranny failures...or that trannies in minivan are weak and could not support the heavier weight.
